What are your favourite colour combos?
Sometimes I find myself getting too matchy-matchy instead of venturing outside of the box. Just got a gorgeous new emerald and sea green bedlah that sparkles like nobody's business and there I go, looking for a green skirt....Tried on a navy/royal with it tonight and it actually looked pretty damned good! So tell me gals, what colours do you like to pair??? Pics please. I am a totally visual kind of gal.

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
Zana - thanks! Your thread is awesome and I can't believe I missed that! My problem is, auburn hair, light skin, light freckles and tend to look better in autumn type colours - but obviously don't want to wear those for a few months at least.
Hot damn, I see your photos in the tropical colours and pray that I could wear them- you always look amazing, but I think I have said that once or twice already, lol. I have always been partial to turquoise anything though and I can 'usually' work them if they are a richer shade. Fuschia's, yellows, anything of that nature, you might as well put a barf bag over my head. Same with anything too light. Washes me out. Oh gawd, I just realized, I can't wear anything! ;-)

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
I get really good colour combinations when I pile all my veils together. I have also learned that fluorescent green goes with pretty much everything!
Cerise & lime green

Purple & lime green

Chocolate & lime green

Turquoise & lime green

Blue & lime green

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
Green and purple looks great.
Zana - I never wear pastels. Colours have to be saturated.
Love, love, love the lime and blue... and I think Beafarhana's lime and purple graphic may become my new screen saver - permission pending of course. :-)

Azaleah- it's not my graphic, I found it when I was searching google image. I only linked to it. But I agree it's rather mesmerising!
I don't think anyone's going to mind if someone saves an image they post online. After all, it's on your hard-drive already, just by virtue of viewing it...

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
I am going to look at Fairy Cove Silks pattern momentarily, but as much as I am scared to death of fuschia, I find the cerise and lime above rather intriguing. Would you pull that off Isidriel? Maybe layering two circles so it wasn't too much? That is 'really' venturing for me! lol. Maybe my planets are just misaligned. I did put sugar in my tea tonight. Blasphemy.

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
My favorite is a really rich red (like almost a burgundy, but without the brown) and navy blue currently. But I also love turquoise with a dark midnight blue. (I'm really into blues lately, and I'm not sure why.)
Otherwise, I really like greens together, like a forest green with a bright green and brown/copper accents. And dark paired with light purples.

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
I am one of those few who can't do turquoise well by itself- but darken it to teal & I can pull it off. I don't do bright pinks either, but I can do dusky rose- right now I'm working on a rose chiffon & deep chocolate brown velvet number, a teal & peachy orange, and an aqua mix with everything from kelly green to teal to royal, even a little hint of purple thrown in here & there with some coral red beading.
None of that sounds great in writing, but I'm happy with how it's all coming out. Of course that is WAY to many projects- I'll post pictures when I finish them in about 10 years!

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
LOL!!! The cerise and lime can be beautiful, but that's a very potent combo so I think it depends a lot on how it's applied. Could be fabulous if the components are not too busy. Maybe layering 2 circles would do it. Say Lime bedlah, cerise beading, a layer of each in skirts, green topmost? Don't fear the fuschia, if not too too intense like hot pink I think it can be flattering. But any green-blue-purple combo in jewel tones is a sure thing for us pale redheads, y'ask me. My best to the S.O. touched that he cares! I didn't put sugar in my tea my friend, so I have NO excuse for mania . . . just my wiring . . .

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
i like blues and greens these days, i really like the plumeria in zana's thread: http://www.bhuz.com/forum/belly-danc...binations.html i also love a colorway on a veil that fairy cove silks has, but the 'moss and roses' may be the closest i can tell on the website to what it is called. it has like an olive green, garnet and gold colors in it...beautiful! sometimes i see it when we go on vending trips and fairy cove silks is there...i may need to buy this veil next time, and then build a costume around it!

I tried it as a wallpaper, but it was WAY too loud, so I'm back with some more sedate blossom trees!

Re: What are your favourite colour combos?
Love the inspirational combos posted here! Thanks!
Just had this habotai silk delivered yesterday and was going to use it for a veil, but now I am thinking it would make a fab panel skirt. Love the colours in this and forces me not to be so matchy. Of course, it would not go with my green but this fabric has set off my A.D.D. to another project.....l;,
