Costume with bra top not jiving

I recently traded for a really cute costume from another bhuzzer, it is an inexpensive great for belly gram sequins with fringy type blue with silver fringies. much like icicles, if it is or isnt one not sure. However the top which I thought I only needed to add more eyes for the hooks is not helping as much as I thought, the costume must have been originally a regular over the shoulder strap, and it was made into a halter with a headband. If I return it to its original state it may help but I need the lift from the bottom and I do not know if the shape will help that I seem to still fall out both top and bottom. it is a 38C and I am a 34D, I thought that should work, and it appeared to, but then I realized I was falling out--in my home not for an audience that is. Seems like the bra is too far away from my body.....

Any suggestions I stink at sewing, I try but not good with hand work.

How tight do you have the band? One of my classmates had a top that she didn't think fit her, but it did once she drastically moved the hooks inward to make the top smaller. (It took her at least 4 adjustments to get it right. Every week she moved it closer together.)

I really like the x-back on tops. It looks similar to halter tops, but it's more comfortable and sturdy for me. Do you have enough strap to give the x-back a try?

Not really but the headband was what used to be the original other strap, I could make it back to the original I think the boobs are too far apart too, maybe a dart in the side and the back I added 2 more sets of hooks but I cant hook it myself easily, so If I tighten all the way and clip it with hairclip I still spill out on top even if I get bottom, and side boobage.... thinking if I fix straps, and try to get boobs closer together or just add stretchy sequins around boobs will that look wierd?

Okay so now I am adding trim around the bra to give better coverage, re-added bra strap from headband need to reattach both in the back, and reinforcing and adding bling where it was gone. Still needs a few more hours of work and some silver nailpolish on chipped beads but soon will be ready to try on again for the boobage test, otherwise back to swapmeet it will go.

I like the double halter idea I've been hearing about lately.

I agree that your band is probably too large. I put my bedlah bras on like my street bras...turn them backwards, hook, then turn them back around.

Don't forget to lean forward shoulder shimmy to settle things into the cups.

I found that it was always very helpful to see dancer's fit problems with specific costumes---rather than posting your photos here you can always just email one of us directly to get some help.

Oh, no. Sorry to hear the costume is not quite working for you! Hope it can be fixed.

    HI EDNA!
Well it worked out I expanded the bra by adding trim and it looks great! I also added more of the trim around the rest and I am going to add a little extra bling and we should be ship shape.
It is working out fine just the boobage spillage problem, but once that was covered (no pun intended) it is working out fine. Just doing a little touch up here and there and she is on her way to working!

When I finish it I will add pics.

Don't say that! I'm sure they are bodacious! It sounds like you've probably solved the tailoring issue, but sometimes they can spill out if the straps are too far apart. I have moved the straps in closer before and it helped tremendously. Just a thought.
