    Where to buy diamante/rhinestone accents??

    Hello,
I'm looking for something like these:

I keep seeing them on (cheapish) costumes, so they must exist, but can't find a supplier.
Has anyone seen them for sale?

    Hi!

Well - I don't know where you are based in the UK, but if you are not too far away from London, I would recommend Southall which is a part of London where many people from India and Pakistan live. It's full of shops with fabric and sarees and rhinestone-things!

Hope, I could help you at least a little bit.

    Best wishes from Germany, Sahira.

PS: If you are going to Istanbul in the nearer future, I would definitely say: Go to the shops behind the spice market in Sultanahmed. They've got loads of rhinestone stuff there - and it's cheap!

Another suggestion: Buy cheap rhinestone-earrings via Ebay, cut the pin off and sew these onto your cossies.

    Hi!

Reading - ha - that's cool. I know Reading quite well because I used to live in Newbury. Gosh, I miss the UK!

One little hint: Don't go to Southall alone (as a woman / for a man that doesn't matter). Take a friend - or better - a male friend with you. It's not dangerous there but the majority of people in Southall come from a male-dominated culture and are not so much used to women doing their shopping on their own.
By the way: There are some shops with Indian clothing in Reading, too. Maybe, you want to check them out, as well? We drove past them on our way to Henley, I think.

    Best regards, Sahira.

    Slough's good too, and nearer!

I've never had any problem wandering around Southall, or any other area where there is a strong British Asian community. Of course Asian women go shopping on their own- I'm sure their menfolk would hardly want to be involved in such female things!

I'm actually in East Reading which is the asian part, there are a few indian shops around here too so I'll have a look.
I have family and friends in Henley and Newbury too. Small world eh?

    Hi again!

@ firefly5: Hope, you are lucky in finding the right stuff round your corner, then!
    Yeah - the world's a village.....l;,

@ Beafarhana: Oh yes - I forgot about Slough. That's good, too!
And by the way: Of course, asian women do their shopping on their own, too. Men don't do that normally if it is for food and women's clothing and things like that.
What I wanted to say is: They were not so much used to European women doing their shopping alone. Maybe, this has changed, meanwhile. I was there more than 10 years ago.
When I went there with a friend, I didn't know the area and I felt better with someone with me. Even my Indian friends told me then, it's always better going there with friends than alone.
And: Going shopping for clothes and accessories is much nicer with a friend!

    Best wishes, Sahira.

    Hello Bea!
I wouldn't have thought shopping alone would be a problem either, a lot of the shops are run by women nowadays. I reckon it'll be more fun with a friend anyway.
