Thread: What is the fastest way to get rid of a tan?

I mean it.

I'm a rather pale individual, known to glow in the dark. I don't usually tan, I either burn and peel or I'm not in the sun long enough for it make me "tan". However, came back from a camping trip, in which I went kayaking. In spite of slathering myself in Aveeno SPF 60 all over, I still got a tan, damn it. And since I was wearing a safety vest with a tshirt underneath, it's a farmer's tan. Ack! The damage is mostly contained to my arms and legs (below the knee), but it looks flat out ridiculous.

Any suggestions?

I remember back when I use to tan out in the sun - I was in the bathroom one time tending a cut with peroxide and spilt it on my leg and the spill took off my tan. It could have been the lotion I was using, I don't know. You might want to try it though. Another thing to do is match the tan with self taning lotion.

You could try a sugar scrub or something else that exfoliates to help slough off that top layer of skin. And a good oil based lotion I use pure cold pressed coconut oil.

soak yourself in lemon juice. Cucumber juice also has a slight lightening effect, but lemon / lemons juice is stronger.

ok, I was joking when I meant soak yourself, but maybe rub your skin with it and see what happens.

Hydroquinone cream...kinda stinky, possibly a carcinogen, but it works. I had a funky halter top tanline that I got rid of in less than two weeks. I buy Ambi skin lightening cream (oil free formula). Works great on age spots, freckles, pretty much any brown sun induced discoloration. It's cheap too, under seven bucks and you can download and print a $3 off coupon from their website, making it $4 or less.

Is Ambi skin available for online purchase somewhere? <i'm in <canada and <i don't think we have that one up here. Sounds promising.

I have been applying Paula's Choice AHA gel in hopes that chemical exfoliation would help, but it doesn't seem to help. :(

They used to recommend bathing in buttermilk. Wouldn't hurt anyway.
