I bought the worst bedlah known to man
Hi Everyone-
I bought my first bedlah and skirt, the bra top is HUGE, even though I bought it in my side (A), I hear this is normal, what can I do to make it fit better, despite the obvious boob job..l;, , another reason why I call this the "worst bedlah" is because I already have injuries from it, i tried it on and looked down at my belly and noticed red scrates from the damn thing
*sigh*
any help/tips?
xxolivia

Oh, Dear! OUCH! My condolences... :(
Are the red scratches from the belt? If so, could you replace the lining, maybe??

Hi,
I'm a B cup and have the same problem, even in an A cup! You should be able to unpick the lining (only) at the top of the bra and then you can pad it - I'm rubbish at sewing but even I have managed to do this with several of my bedleh. You can use either ready made bra padding or larger sized gel 'chicken fillets' (I don't know if you use the same expression in the states - they are those gel things you put in your bra for extra oumph!), or sponge cut to size etc - I have recently used a combo of shoulder pads and teddy bear/cushion stuffing, so whatever you find that works! Good thing about the stuffing is that you can mould it and also add it in gradually until you have the right effect. I personally avoid the current fashion for bras that have that massive gap in the middle (with the cups far apart) that are scoop shaped rather than the traditional bra shape, as no amount of padding can make them look good on me. Work with what flatters you most when buying a costume and don't forget the belly dance maxim - if you ain't got it, buy it ;)
Hope that helps?! x

It the measurement across the bottom of the cups the right length for you? A lot of times, people get bras that have bands that are far too big for them and the cups wrap around to their sides.
If that is your case, maybe you can take out the strap between the cups and sew them together.

Ditto.
Also, on the scratches, reline the belt and make sure you take the lining all the way to the top of the beading / sequins. This should help with min. scratching in the future. Oh, and this is one of the few times I suggest using felt to line. usually I use tee shirt material or another natural fiber.

For the bra thing, go to a fabric store and find the bra pads they have there. You'll prob only need a small set. Pull the lining of the bra back, and sew the pads into the bottom/side of each cup so they act like a shelf. Good luck!

Re: I bought the worst bedlah known to man
i line all my bras, belts (and even elastic skirts) with felt, so that the belt fits off my body a little and i don't muffin top, but also so that i don't sweat into the good fabric (this advice brought to you by Shira.net ^_^) i also sew a pocket for my Bcards into the felt.
for bras, some do run big, but sometimes padding can cause your nipples to pop out over the top edge, so be careful and don't start ordering in odd sizes unless you're familiar with the brand.
also, don't use gel to pad. it's probably a no brainer to other people, but i didn't realize that it was bad OR that the pads i got had gel in them and almost ruined a bra i was making. ^_^

Second that... gel can pop and ooze out onto your lovely bra! The pads that I was talking about are the cotton filled ones.
Also, you probably didn't buy the wost bedlah known to man. Almost every costume you'll own will have to be altered to fit... usually bra padding, moving hooks, tightening straps, changing the lining, etc.

Hi!
Honestly: Why do you keep it?
If it is that horrible, try to sell it to someone who fits better into it and get something nicer that fits better for yourself!
