Thread: Need advice for placing a custom order

Hi Ladies! I've never custom ordered a costume but planning to this month. I tried on several looking to buy yesterday and just didnt get that "have to buy it" feeling, so I thought maybe a special order would be the key. Do any of you have any tips of what specifics to say when describing what you want? I'm going to order through a friend who vends with Joharah.

Do you draw sketches of what you would like or just give rough ideas and see what comes out?

Have an idea of colors, also have pictures of colors.

It really helps to have pictures that have costume elements you are looking for that you can point out to the atelier/costumer.

totally depends on the designer. Totally depends on whether you want something unique or couture. Something truly artistic or just a good workhorse from Egypt.
