Thread: UK based costume deseigners/costumiers?

Hi,

I'm becoming more aware that we have some UK based costumiers making their own bedleh etc, taht are maybe a bit different and a bit easier on the pocket than teh Egyptian designer cozzies.

Can anyone recommend where to find them online - googling them is like looking for a needle in several haystacks!

Mandy who makes the shimmyshop clothes is VERY popular. Her creations are seen on a lot of the top UK bellydancers.

Not really an internet presence but she is present at the festivals and other events.

It depends what your budget is though. She is not necessarily cheaper than the Egyptian cozzies, for example Farida sell the student sets by Egyptian designers

I'm aery happy customer of both the Shimmy Shop and Billie's Bazaar - the lime green and the blue are Shimmy Shop costumes, the zebra outfit is from Billie's Bazaar.

Mayaan of Brighton Orient has some nice stuff. Not the cheapest in the world, but veeeery nice...
