best wigs?
Ok - so I am thinking about chopping off my hair and donating it. I do this every few years.
Well - I have been thinking of the "wig" thing for gigs so I have the long hair without all the fuss of putting in extensions and all that. I have noticed that many dancers are doing this now.
I have also noticed that a few dancers have used not so great quality wigs and it shows....not naming names, just have noticed it in some pictures I found.
That being said - I have seen a few that have very high quality looking wigs. Some - I did not know it was a wig until I saw them later with short hair!
Where do you suggest I purchase?
I am thinking human hair. I have seen a few on Ebay that look great but pictures can be deceiving.
Any suggestions on where to buy full-on wigs?

I don't have any suggestions, but I think it's nice that you're donating your hair.

Re: best wigs?
Human hair is great but can be very pricy.
As a sci-fi and fantasy costumer I wear wigs a lot.
For high-quality synthetic wigs I like these brands:
CosplaySupplies.com -- Chez Coiffure brand
CosplaySupplies.com -- New Look Wigs

Re: best wigs?
Old town Alexandria has a couple decent wig shops and there is another somewhere in Maryland that is supposed to be good

Re: best wigs?
i just ordered a pony tail from them, and i am soooo upset!!
they are so rude!!
i sent them an email to correct my billing address, because their system doesn't allow to input italian provinces and i wanted the billing address to be correct...
well, they never replied directly to my questions and when i asked them to please be more clear they started being really rude and now they are also insulting me saying that i need a computer class, because i made a mistake!!
i am surely not buying from them anymore!
i would like to know if the person replying to my emails is just a worker or the owner...because i would love to report this case!!
sorry for the OT but i am so upset!

I have a story about this company that will excuse the pun, curl your hair. They're local to me and whoooiiieeee....
They don't have much in the way in manners in some regards but their prices are wonderful!Last edited by Doozer; 10-05-2010 at 05:39 PM. Reason: Spelling, heh heh

Re: best wigs?
My mother used to sell wigs. I like Jon Renau. They are synthetic but very high quality. They have a realistic scalp so if someone were looking down at your hair the wig looks flesh colored and you can see individual hairs. They arent to pricey and are on many websites. They dont have that tacky shine to them that cheap wigs have or clump together in chunks. These are the things that give wigs and 3/4 pieces away. The pieces my mother owned to sell stayed nice and brushed out nice
