Thread: I need silk info

Can anyone tell me where is the best place to buy silk veil fabric and good dyes for silk. I am trying to match a very specific color. Thanks

for dyes..those are tricky..the colors displayed on your monitor may vary greatly from what you actually get

not to discourage you at all but dyeing is a long trial by error learning process :)

I guess I should of mentioned I'm only trying to make a veil to match a harvest moon yellow/orange costume. Just one solid color with no fades into other colors or fancy designs. Thanks.

Thanks, but I checked out the website and I will buy a premade veil and some dye that you throw in the wash with the silk. From reading the info I realize it won't be as fabulous or brilliant as the dyes that need steam etc. This is going to be a one hit wonder and cheap wins out. I do love your work by the way. I just bought a matching akai veil/skirt set off a bhuzzer that, combined with a bedlah I just got, looks just like an oil drop on wet ground. Love it.
