Thread: Desperately Seeking Aquamarine Sew-On Square Crystals!

This is sort of random, but I know some of you guys have "connections" ,r:;

I desperately need to replace the crystals on a vintage bedlah of mine. The original ones were 12 mm sew-on squares, an aquamarine color. These weren't anything fancy - just acrylic.

Anybody know where I might find something like that? I've checked all the major rhinestone suppliers (DreamTime Creations, Whitestones, etc.) and haven't exactly found what I need.

Can anybody point me in the right direction? Help!

Try Ebay, Satin. I've found vintage crystals there before.

You can also try Bergers beads here in LA. They might need you to send them one for an exact match, but I have found some amazing things there.

Don't laugh, but you know where I've seen these? Joanns and Wal-mart. Satin, I have some I'll probably never use that I can send to you. The quality isn't great and they may not be the same, but pretty close. How many do you need? I can take a pic and measure tonight.

Are you serious? Hey, the original stones are just plain acrylic, so it's not like I need to upgrade to anything fancy ..g.:

I need a TON of them - I counted 125 total, but I'll probably have to get a few extra because rhinestones tend to like to walk away from me. LOL. Let me know and I'll gladly take them off your hands.

Oh, and in the picture, they're looking a little on the grayish-green side. That's partly the lighting, and partly the fact that the crystals are getting very dingy, hence, my posting this thread in the first place. ,r:;

I definitely don't have 125. At the craft store, don't look near the beads and sequins. These acrylic ones are near the buttons. They always come in mixed packs so if you find them, you'll probably buy them all. I'll let you know if I can think of the name...

Yeah I've seen them at Joanns in the button section too... I've bought a pack in pink before... I think there were 10 or 12 per pack maybe.

I didn't see 12 mm square on this site but you can special order colors.
