    What's your Hair-do?

    Hi!

Looking for hair-do ideas for performances. So many people seem to have a signature style, and trying to think about mine. Also, my hair is getting fairly long (bra band lengh), and I'm looking for tips or styles to keep it out of my face while dancing. I sometimes wear the headband that comes with the costume, but other times I am want a more sexy or modern look.

So, what are your hair-dos? Post pics if you got them.

    Thanks!

I'm getting a haircut today to address this very issue. My hair is bra length to. But my bangs/front are sloppy and all over the place. I'm going to a real salon (not a walk-in place, which I go to for trims and stuff..) to get my hair reshaped in the front so I can wear it long without it being in my face...

It's just saying that out loud makes it sound like a mullet. *Twitch* Kinda nervous now, lol. I hate getting my hair cut.

My hair is just past my shoulders, and I have real trouble styling it for dancing, because it's quite fine, and very wilful. I like to change styles regularly as well, so I don't get stuck in a rut.

For tribal stuff I tend to wear it in a chignon or two little buns on either side, with flowers stuck round them.

For Oriental I wear it down, with a decorated Alice band holding it off my face.

Tonight, however, I tried out a hairpiece for the first time. I put my own hair back in a high bun, then clipped the hairpiece over the top and impaled it with half a packet of pins. Voila, long brown curls, with a strategically placed ribbon to ease the contrast with my own redder locks. Several dancers complimented me on it, so it will definitely make a reappearance.

that's not long! talk to me when you have to untuck it from your pants ^_~ (just teasing)
i put medium and big hot rollers in, do my makeup, then take the rollers out and spray (ok, there are other products involved too, but that's the ghist) then i either wear a headband or pin the vestiges of my bangs back in a half-ponytail kindda way. (my hair reaches a bit below my bra, it used to go to my hips but i cut it a few years ago. i always get confused when people comment on how long it's gotten-no time to get it cut- because it was hip length for such a long time ^_^)

i use a curling iron for big waves...or i use a triple barrel waving iron to make it big and diva-ish. i wish i could wear headbands...but i feel silly when i wear them...and they tend to slide out.

I'm a big fan of clip-on hair - so much quicker and easier than styling real hair!

You could try pulling back the top half of your hair into a ponytail and adding a clip-on ponytail to that. That way, you keep your long tresses down, but with some extra oomph on top.

I think this is how Michelle Joyce has her hair in this clip: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvTlozRWP5s&feature=related]YouTube - Michelle Joyce - Drum Solo[/ame]

    What hairdo?..l;,

Hey. It's long, it's thick, it isn't all gray yet.

    This is a problem?

    Re: What's your Hair-do?

I use hairpieces. I have tons of them, mostly Motown tresses. Clip on straight or curly tails, 3/4 or 1/2 wigs on combs, falls. Mostly dark like my natural color, but I have been know to try blondish or red! I always wear a decorated head thing, band, scarf, clip, to cover where it joins my real hair. [Unless it's a full wig, but usually that is too hot for me.] To me it's part of my costume.
I used to have long wavy dark hair that I wore down, or with a bit of one side pulled up with a sparkly hairclip. For folkloric type, I wear scarf type headpieces.
Age has thinned my hair which is why I use fake hair. I love it. Motown tresses are inexpensive & realistic enough.
