Thread: Rainbow Fabric?

I am irrepressibly drawn to rainbows, and I've decided that I should make myself a rainbow costume. I have a fabulous rainbow tiered skirt from L. Rose, but it doesn't suit my usual dance style, which is Egyptian Oriental.

My Google-fu is not strong when it comes to searching for fabrics, so I was wondering if any Bhuzzers out there could point me in the right direction. I'm looking for saturated, primary colours (think Rainbow Brite) in a wide-striped or abstract pattern: in other words, a fabric with all the colours of the rainbow, not a print of rainbow arcs.

I would love to find rainbow lycra, but leads on any costume-appropriate fabric would be appreciated!

I didn't see anything at Spandex House that I would call "pride rainbow" (big, colorblock stripes), but they had this stripe and a couple of metallic foils like this one.



Theatre House had this one, but it's a sheer/mesh.

Yes, I've seen that costume and love it! I think it's an Asi Haskal.

That Theatre House fabric is the closest to what I'm looking for -- "pride rainbow" is a much more concise way of identifying it! If only it weren't sheer.

you can always have a silk artist dye yardage for you. That Asi Haskal one might be silk.
