Drool! Drool! Drool!
I actually don't ponder the Belly Dance store all that often unless I want a galabaya.
But this is on the home page. It's like a rock n' roll costume! I love it!

That is very interesting... not enough bling for the price though

I don't care for it, personally- I don't like the uniboob look, and the torse is too "bondage" for me. But one of the things that I love about belly dance costuming is the difference in opinions that we all have!

I hate it!..l;,
But I'm (relatively) OLD, that's probably why. I bet my daughter would wear it.

One dancer's dream costume is another dancer's UBDC. But I can see the Tim Burton thing or for Tribal Fusion, maybe. But the price! Doesn't seem like a good deal to me, or something that keep its resale value. But I tend to dislike most things by this particular designer.

I like the *idea* of it, I think, but it looks super unflattering and not meant for human bodies.

Re: Drool! Drool! Drool!
I do to. I actually really gravitate towards classical costuming. However, I really love jail house stripes in my "civilian" clothes which is why this nabbed my eye.
This looks more like a tribal fusion costume to me than an Egyptian one. I know TF dancers who would totally rock this.
The price! Yes, alas. The bondage part is covered in little black rhinestones (or sequins) upon viewing close-up shots. Still, this would be waaaay easier to make for a third (if even that) of the cost.

I would like it more in a solid and with some more bling. Maybe another pattern would work. I don't think the designer chose the right way to use those stripes - neither the skirt nor the bra flatter the dancer, and she's the sort that would look great in a gunny sack.

I'm old too - and I really like it, but it's a fairly simple design with minimal material/trim for the price - I'll bet you can commission someone to create a similarly-themed costume for you (that would be flattering to YOUR bustline and not create uni-boob) for at least $100-$200 less, and they would still turn a profit - perhaps even using leather instead of vinyl, since there isn't really much of it (I assume this is vinyl). I'm in no position to speak for the most popular costumer on this site (Eshta), but, well, it would be interesting to inquire of her.
