Wearing 3/4 wigs -- your experiences, ideas, suggestions, cautions?
I've never tried a 3/4 that didn't have an attached headband, but I'm thinking of giving it a whirl. I have fine, mostly straight hair so imagine the attachment and blending could be tricky. Any tips, tricks, ideas, or experiences to share?
Has anyone worn the Vixen? Vixen Wig, Synthetic 3/4 Wig by Forever Young - WOW WIGs.com
It's on sale right now and I like Forever Young synthetics, so I thought I might take the plunge.

I wore one for a few years. I have bangs, and I just always wore a headband that coordinated with my costume to hide the seam and separate the two hair colors so it was almost impossible to tell they were slightly different (my wig was a little darker than the hair on my head).

I really like my 3/4 wig! I just part my hair like normal, put it in a low, tucked pony tail, put the clips in, and cover with a matching headband! I've even converted one of my troupemates to using one, and she loves hers, too!

This is helpful -- thank you!
I wear this one occasionally and like it a lot. The headband is attached and has plenty of room for pinning.

My 3/4 wigs have combs at the front and rear. My hair is really thick so I make two braids and pin them to my head and then put the wigs over that anchoring with the combs and more pins. Using a costume headband to cover the seam works and also helps disguise any small differences in color. One of mine is a big, long curly one that I wear with folkloric costumes with a head scarf. Ala Fifi's big hair phase!

Can someone enlighten me and explain exactly what is a 3/4 wig? Are they extensions?

Here is what mine looks like (it's from darcinut on eBay):

The inside of the cap has 2 flexible combs, but I also sew extra clips to mine, for more security.

I own 3 of them, a curly one (pic), a shorter wavy one and a straigh dark brown that I wore once for rehearsal to show the dance friends, but they said that curls suits me better.
3/4 wig (also called hairfall) doesn't go all the way to the front of your head. They sit a bit further and you let your own hair show in the front.
I hide the seam of the wig usualy with head band, but if your hair are long enough, you can also bring them back over it and set them in place with barettes or hairclips.
