Thread: Where do you get your wings??

Our troupe is in need of wings. We don't need high quality ones, but don't want junk that will fall apart either. Some mid range in price and quality will work just fine.

A couple of you sent me pm's about wings and I deleted those messages today because my inbox was full and I thought my instructor had already found wings. She asked me today to help her find some, so if you have a line on wings, we are looking for dark purple lame and preferably in sizes. We vary in heights from about 5' 0" to 6' 0".

I got the 12 dollar ones from Hong Kong on Ebay (plus 14 shipping)

Total garbage, but I was kind of expecting that.

Rods are METAL and when I was using them the first time, the metal pole flew through the sewn end because it was way to heavy for that fabric. I had to replace the rods with wooden sticks.

On the plus side, I keep one metal rod under my bed for self defense and the other is in my car. LOL

The wings are sewn together in the back so it is just a giant half circle, not split like my better quality ones.

I was thinking of using them for a troupe piece, but definitely will order some better quality ones.

I also ordered a pair for like $40 on Ebay from a seller in Egypt. Those ones are great and the fabric looks wonderful on stage; like liquid copper! PVC pipes for the "sticks" broke in half almost instantly for me so I replaced them with bamboo sticks. Can't remember off the top of my head if they are sewn up the back or not. I want to say they are split...will have to check on that.

I know you already ordered, but just in case anyone else is looking/wants options, I have purchased wings for classes/troupe from Joharah before and was happy with the quality/service and price.

I'm sure the purple lame you ordered will look fabulous on stage! :)

Ayshe-send her a pic of your costume she sends you color samples that will compliment and match-so well worth the money.. She even fixed the neck part so i can double wing if I wanted to
