Thread: I don't like my neck.

Not whining, I promise! I'm sure we all have features we aren't overly fond of- mine is my very long, somewhat thick neck- and I have been trying to figure out how to disguise it so i like it better. I've worked hard on posture & head angle, but I'm looking for some costuming/hair ideas. My face is very square too, so I already know that having my hair frame my face more is a good thing- but I need to keep it out of my eyes & away from it's tendency to be rather fly away. I have tried chokers/collars & if anything they just draw more attention to the neck. I am kind of thinking I am ready to go the wig route for fuller hair- not thrilled with head bands generally because I need some height up top too with the square face, but maybe with a wig for more fullness up top I could still pull some around below the chin with the head band...

Obviously, I'm just kind of thinking out loud for the moment! Suggestions?

Wear necklaces that have a downward V or angle down which will help to slenderize it. It may not help with the length but a long neck is very beautiful, however. Don't wear anything that cuts straight across like chokers because it will make your neck look thicker.

i put bronzer around the underside of my chin line.

it's so funny, I hate my neck too, but that's because it's short and wide and I look like I have a ball sitting on my shoulders.

Thanks, Eternal Student- hadn't thought of that- any advice on earrings, or would that affect anything anyway?

Hell yes to the bronzer and the V-neck ideas! also, maybe doing an up-do type thing with your hair will slim down your neck and make it uber-sexy. you can also apply bronzer to different locations on your face to alter the way light emphasizes your features if you want your face to look less square.
