Thread: iso inspiration for beaded leaves

i have a costume i've been working on, skirts are just about done, and the sketch for the bedlah is done.
the only problem is: i have no clue how to fill in the beading on the leaves! it's going to have oblong leaves snaking over the bra and belt, using this sort of tear drop shape. http://www.missouriplants.com/Greena...dus_leaves.jpg

any ideas?

I think I'd try laying down a base of green sequins with silver beads (maybe bugles) for veins. For variety, you could alternate leaves with green sequins/silver veins and leaves with silver sequins/green veins, or use leaves in multiple shades of green sequins with silver veins (one shade each--our local Hobby Lobby carries emerald green, lime, and teal, but you can special order other colors from theatrical supply vendors).

I made the leaf appliques from velvet and lame, overlocked (serged) the edges, the beaded the edges and added vein details with beads, or put a big swarovski crystal in the middle. I've since finished the belt, but that's as far as I've gone
