OK, now what to wear over L-Rose trumpet skirt?

I posted a while ago about the suitability of trumpet skirts for my 'pear-shaped' students and was convinced that they'd look good in them. So now they're on order. But I'm wondering what to wear on top? Short of donning very tight shapewear under them, some of the girls' thighs are likely to bulge a bit at the top, and would probably look more flattering covered up.

So what to wear on top of a trumpet skirt?

The girls don't all own bedlahs, and I'm looking for an affordable troupe look - a hand-made sash or belt or something. I want an 'oriental' look, as opposed to tribal fringiness. I thought a Samia-Gamal type sash tied tight over the hips might work, but perhaps the butt-cupping look would not look good on the well-endowed bottom?

Any ideas (and pictures) would be very much appreciated!

PS - the girls are wearing matching L-Rose half-tops, with a variety of sleeved/sleeveles options.

The fun thing about LRose Trumpet skirts is that they make everyone look good. Seriously! If you are looking for an Oreintale look, just add a regular coined hip scarf. I think Artemise has photos from her troupe.

All of my LRose skirts are out on loan, otherwise I'd take photos. Being a big thighed / bottomed girl!

What about ideas for something non-jingly? This is for a dance where I'm contrasting baladi girls and 'oriental' girls, and the baladi girls will be wearing a hip scarf. So I'd ideally like to have something different over the trumpet skirts.

What about those crocheted, paillette hip scarves, like this: http://www.shimmyboutique.com/item.p...category_id=11 ?

Moondance often has sparkely hip scarves that don't jingle. They have these stretch belts for $19.99 that IMO look pretty cute and would make a great, pulled together look for a student costume, especially if paired with nice quality coordinating Lrose skirts and tops.

They also have these which are more expensive & I don't care for as much but may be a better fit http://www.moondancebellydance.com/p...elt_MD123.aspx
