Thread: Costumes from Dahlal's latest "Inside The Harem"

OK, samiramirage: did you snap up that Alizarin Odyssey before I could get my hot little hands on it? As soon as I got the brochure I went to the web site to find the costume and it was G-O-N-E. ,r:;

I swear the costumes in these little flyers are more beautiful with each edition.

I did see on the back a picture of those half circle organza veils I was asking about recently. Based on the pic, I'm going to love 'em!

Its my favorite mail every time it comes. BUT lets talk about "chilled lime" on page 5.
I personally can't decide where I stand in regard to that skirt.
On the 1 hand I LOVE it. It reminds me of the 70's circle skirts with the slits up to the hilt. .w.:If my legs weren't so lumpy I would always sport a mile high slit or two in my skirts. I love the leggy look.


On the other hand, how does one avoid raqs b. in a rig like that? I cannot see any flesh colored shorts under that skirt on the website or in the print catalog. There are plenty of dancers who could rock that costume on their hot bodies but...how?
I know one can add an underskirt or modesty panels, but without that...at least tell me what one would wear to avoid too much exposure.

Humorous as that idea is, you are probably right on the mark with the idea of built in underwear. I believe I've heard of a few costume designers that have designed skirts with built in knickers, really a good thing for something like that...may affect resale value a bit...

You could make sideless built ins that snap off for washing. You'd just need to cut the side straps off of a string bikini or panty and add snaps at the waistband.

Or flesh coloured boy shorts. I also have a dress which is mesh from the bra down one side. I have flesh coloured mesh knickers with a built in satin panel across my lady parts and back side. No one seems to notice the mesh buy you can bet that I don't have to worry about flashing, either!

Chances are that the straps on the belt are filled in with flesh covered mesh. If not, you could add it.

When every I had a skimpy costume like that, I wore heavy duty flesh covered control briefs. They give you lots of coverage. Then you can roll the top of the brief down and pin beneath the belt and unlike boy shorts, it won't show with the split skirt.

I'm wearing them in this video. The skirt is single layer chiffon. The one side of the belt is strappy, although you can't see it to clearly in the video.

Is it just me or does the thought of built in underwear gross you out? I mean what about resale? Ewww....

yes...I have really studied the pictures on the website and I swear there is no mesh but maybe it was airbrushed out. A nude brief is a perfect solution though because then you get all of the scandalous and fantastic WOW factor that a boyshort kind of spoils but all your ladybits stay covered.
The idea of a snap-out washable built-in panty seems smart if you wont be reselling but IDK if I'd want a clean but gently used panty. But...one bhuzzer's trash is another's treasure so who knows!
Moreover I would be waaaaay to paranoid personally to have my panty and skirt in one, just in case something started to slip or fall down.
I'd love to have the body to wear something this bold, but even more so I'd love to have the confidence to wear it well.

If you safety pin your skirt to your underwear, you won't have to worry about raqs beaver, the underwear straps showing through the cutouts, OR the cutouts shifting around to reveal your crotchal area.

I got it today and love Prismatic Prowl...but it isn't on the site either....

Oh, I LOVE 'Chocolate Citrus' on the cover! And I'm usually a cool colors person, but 'Alizaron Odyssey' & 'Sunset River' on pg.4 also caught my eye. Maybe it's just because they look so fabu on Samira. But the ones I'm really lusting after are 'Prismatic Prowl' (pg.5) and 'Girly Graphite' (pg.4). OMG!!

The pants sets on pg.6 are really cute too.

Maybe I'm just an old poop, but I don't feel like it's enough for the dancer to know her costume is secure from raqs-b if it looks to the audience like it's not. I find when I'm watching someone dance in a costume like this, my eye is drawn again and again and again to the point where it looks like something I'm afraid to see is about to flash. There's a kind of anxious fascination that distracts and detracts from the experience of watching that person dance. I DO love the old style costumes with very full skirts that are slit all the way up but those just don't look anywhere near as "dangerous" to me as very high slits in the fronts of straight lycra skirts.

Have you ever watched a dancer whose boobs looked like they were about to pop out of her costume...and even though you're not a weirdo you couldn't help but nervously look at her boobs to see when they were gonna make their appearance??? OMG! The fall colors are gorgeous! My favs in no particular order...on the cover, Perennial, p. 4 Sunset River and Girly Graphite, on page 5 Prismatic Prowl, and p. 6 Sweet Serendipity. Now I need to take a second mortgage out on my house.
