Thread: Fav Egyptian Wholesalers of Low Cost Troupe Galabeyas?

Looking to costume a group of ladies in Egyptian style Galabeyas. Must be low cost. Some decent decoration. Stretch materials. Custom US designers are out of the budget for this project :(

What are your favorite Egyptian wholesalers?

Obviously we know about the USA retailers, & SaftiCraft, SharifWear, Hanan & what's available on Ebay. What else? Any newly discovered Cairo or Alexandria independents?

I'm not sure if they have what you're looking for, but you might try Horus and Isis. My troupe bought some pailette dresses from them and we like them.

Thanks Shahla. I know them, but they don't have what we are looking for right now :( We need 8 matching and they've gotta be shipped sooner than later!

The Gomaa Brothers are great to deal with.... they're on facebook: Mohamed Gomaa and Hesham Gomaa. Mohamed has tons of pics of his work on his page..... They have a website, too, but his FB is updated more often. They have a store in Cairo.

If you decide to go with them, tell 'em Dinah Kadous sent ya ;)

ps... when I saw them at the AWS Winter Intensive last year, they told me that the turnaround time for a beaded costume is 10-14 days, so galabeyas should be out to you pretty quickly.

I was curious and tried to locate them via FB - no success using either Gomaa Brothers or their names. I am probably doing something wrong, any suggestions?

On facebook go to Amr Belly Dance Costumes. He also has a website: eygptbazaar.net (you have to put "belly dance" in your google search.
He has lots more on Facebook though! GREAT quality and prices. he is very nice to deal with! He is also on my friends list I am on facebook as Faaria Lynch.
My student performance group just got their costumes last month, all beautiful. He has LOTS of new costumes up this month:)

I double checked the spelling.... Mohamed Gomaa is right.... and it's active.

I'd recommend Mohamed Gomaa as well, very reasonably priced & turnaround time is pretty quick. His website www.oriental-dancer.com and he is on FB as has been mentioned. he answers FB messages pretty quickly. http://www.facebook.com/gomaa.faham
