Thread: tell me about your botox experiences

I am considering botox for some forehead creases and crows feet. Can anyone share their experiences? Did it hurt? How long does it last? Were your results what you expected? Did you have any side effects? I am a bit nervous about having a droopy eye or some other sort of issue. Would love to hear if you're happy with the results, or not.

I love botox…had some was last April…need to go and get some more now. Two years ago was the first time I had it done, forehead, inbetween brows, around eyes and some muscle groups in the lower part of my face. It hurt like a mother, especially around the lower part of the face (nose and mouth). I also had filler as well and that hurt even more. But it was over in 10 minutes, well worth the pain. Absolutely no side effects.

More recently, the doctor put a numbing agent in with the primary and it doesn't hurt as much as it used to. Basically it brought tears to my eyes but nothing too bad.

I was very very happy with the results…look exactly like myself but younger. I could still frown and make faces like I normally do.

I don't know how long botox is supposed to last, but like I said it was last April and now I see it's time to get more.

An important decision is choosing a highly skilled medical doctor who understands the underlying musculature of the face so you get the best results. Don't skimp on the doctor. Pick someone who does this for a living, and somehow check for unhappy patients if that is possible.

Remember botox is our friend when used responsibly, haha, not like Hollywood people who use too much and too often.

I get it for migraines every 3 months. Top of forehead, between the eyes (that hurts alot), top of jaw, back of the head. I don't know what the difference is when used for cosmetic purposes, but my forehead is very smooth. When I first started, the doctor warned me against rubbing my forehead or eyes for a few days.

Can you still raise your eyebrows if you've had botox for forehead creases? I have worked a long time on the coordination of my forehead and scalp muscles so I can raise one eyebrow (this didn't come naturally to me). I wouldn't mind losing some creases, but I don't think I would sacrifice facial expression.

My mom had it for her migraines but it didn't work for her sadly...but worth a shot if you suffer from them!
