Anyone tried E.L.F. 100 pc eye shadow palette from Target?

Saw an ad for it in a mag, is only $10. Any comments on this or elf eye shadow products overall? I usually use MAC or Make Up For Ever, so I guess I have a pretty high expectation for cosmetic products and I don't want to waste $10 for something that will disappoint me. Thanks for your comments!

Think of it as an investment into something new - compared to buying MAC - $10 is a pretty cheap trial. That's only 10 cents per color!

I was less than impressed with their shadows. IMO they are waxy and tend to run with perspiration. Where as the MAC shadows will stay on for 3 show in a row without budging.

The ELF eyeshadows seem really low on pigment. I bought some because they were so cheap, but it seemed like I spent forever just trying to get the depth of color I wanted compared to the L'oreal HIP line. (I haven't invested in any MAC as yet.)

In my experience, the E.L.F. applicator brushes are great for the low $ but stay away from the eyeshadows. They fade very quickly and tend to be uneven in appearance.

Thanks, ladies, I think I'll skip these even for the low price. Bhuzzers give great advice!

Re: Anyone tried E.L.F. 100 pc eye shadow palette from Target?

I've tried E.L.F. products before, and I concur that they are pretty bad quality. I really think $10 is too much to waste on a palette of E.L.F shadows.

I think you're better off saving that $10 and putting it towards a decent generic palette from a store like Sephora or Ulta (Both have websites). I know that at Ulta they sometimes run specials on eyeshadow palettes that include a whole bunch of colors. I've seen them for as little as $20. $20 worth of generic but good quality Ulta brand eyeshadow is a much better investment than $10 of E.L.F that is of such low quality you won't even be able to appreciate the colors of the pigments when you try them on your face.

The thing about Mac and other good brands (like my personal favorite, MakeUp Forever) is that the makeup is highly pigmented. "Highly pigmented" means that you can actually build on the color as you apply it to your face. With low quality products, you can pile the stuff on your face forever and ever, but the color won't ever get any darker because it's not highly pigmented. And like others have mentioned, the higher quality stuff has better staying-power too which is a big plus if you sweat a lot or dance all night.

If you want to try Mac but are on a budget (I know I am!) you can try getting it from this discount website that I like:

    www.allcosmeticswholesale.com

All of the products on there are overstocks. But the website doesn't carry everything a brand makes, the website just buys overstocks and resells at low prices. Customer service is good too, btw.

Or you could try getting some Mac on eBay, but beware of counterfeit products. There are a ton of Mac eyeshadow palettes on eBay, but you're not necessarily guaranteed that they are really the true Mac product.

Long-winded response, I know. But I'm a makeup junkie and I love it.

Quite a while ago I got a bunch of ELF products free as part of a promotion. I paid nothing, and feel the make up was worth exactly that!! The cheapest stuff from the local drugstore, I think it's called New York something, is better. I buy a lot of make up from Marcs, which is a cross between a discount drug store, low price grocery, and Big Lots. They often have name brand stuff for pennies on the dollar.
