Suggestions for makeup to go with 2 costumes

    Hi dancers:)
I need some input and ideas for a great makeup I can do for a show I am doing. The show consists of two sets for which I will be wearing:

    1. White/silver or white/gold costume
    2. Red/silver costume

What is the best eye makeup and whole makeup I can do to go with both colours without having to modify it too much? i have about 20 minutes between sets to change.
    ..g.:
    Thanks for your help
    Goldie

You've got no picture to show what your overall colouring is. That might give people more of a clue as to what makeup colouring would suit you.

In the absence of that, I'd say, go for a neutral "smokey eye" make up, in browns/dark greys. Then red lipstick and red-toned blusher, because that will work with both costume themes.

Thanks Beafarhana those are good suggestions.

I am middle eastern with medium toned olive skin, brown eyes and dark brown hair.24966_395489001647_607961647_5450961_2078341_s.jpg

I like the idea of browns/grey. I can do the eyes same for both costumes and wear red lipstick with the red costume. How about if I wear a more neautral lip colour for the white costume? It would be a more smoky eye look with lighter lips for a modern look. Are neutral lips safe for big stages?

    Thanks so much1

If it's a big stage and you are not dancing up close to your audience, I would say stick with strong lip colours. Neutral will just look as though you've got no lipstick on at all, from a distance.

Yes it's a very large stage indeed! Good point about the light lips being lost.
    Thanks very much!

What if you are in a restaurant and on the floor with customers (not away from them on a stage)? What intensity of lipstick then?

aida21, you are very beautiful. :Ahappy:

Well I wear bright lipstick all the time, for everyday wear, ..g.: so I'd still go for a scarlet red or a cerise pink anyway!

    Darbla:)
    Thanks for the nice compliment!

Yes now that I think about it, bright colours are best. I was watching one of Michelle Joyce's "Secrets of the Stage" DVDs, and in it, and dancer Louchia said best shades are not too dark, not too pale. Good ones are red, rasberry, pinks. She said it's best to look youthful on stage.

I'm thinking if putting tons of lipgloss on top of something is a good idea or is it too outdated? What do you think?

I love lip gloss but not when dancing. I do too much hair flinging!
