Lightbulb Fixing up my Yasser - a little help needed : )

Since I can't seem to sell it i'm going to fix up the missing stones/beads ..g.:

What type of "stone" is this missing one? Is this a basic sew on setting? It looks a little different than the ones I've seen in Dreamtime Creations. Are the Yasser one's not high quality? How do I tell if they are acrylic or resin and not crystal? What might be more durable and easy to interchange? They do look like a type of glass but not Swarovski maybe? I can't tell. This is my first "high end" used cossie. I plan on using clear nailpolish on the remaining stones to help prolong their lives. I'll do it in the spring when I can maybe work outside....that stuff smells to strong for me now.

Recommendations for a higher quality chain that won't have so many bent prongs and lost stones? I think a lot of people use Rhinestonechain.net http://www.rhinestonechain.net/ if I remember correctly?

Thank you! I'm almost done with my mundane house sewing projects and am excited to move onto something FUN!!!

    Hi!

This seems to be a very nice costume. Love the colour.

I would say, the stones are Swarovski ones. They are called 'Rivoli' as far as I remember. They come with or without those extra settings to put them in for sewing on costumes. You can find them on Ebay.

And: I wouldn't recommend using nailpolish on the stones. It often becomes yellow after a while and looks horrible, then. I think it is better to replace the stones instead.

    Love, Sahira.

PS: I just looked up on Ebay and found loads of them within the German Ebay, alone. This one for example:

So, I'm pretty sure you will find them on Ebay America, as well.

Just had a closer look to your stones. They are different from the ones I thought they are, first - but I think you should go for Swarovski, nevertheless. They are the most gorgeous and long lasting ones.

    Love, Sahira.

Watch out for the stones in pronged settings. When a chiffon or metallic veil (or sleeve)slides over these stones it often gets snagged by the tiny, sharp metal points...interrupts your routine and damages the veil. ~ Dina
