Try this nifty makeup trick to add glow, not shine
In an effort to make my dry and dull skin "dewier" -- I bought some Bare Minerals All Over Face Color, based on this description: True All-Over Face Color is a complexion booster, adding a bright and youthful glow to your face. It's a glimmering, sheer wash of color that adds a delicate coraly-pink sweetness to your complexion and infuses radiant light into your skin so it looks like its coming from within. True's golden-rose shade lends a fresh appearance to cheeks, forehead, chin and eyes.
Sadly, the product didn't live up to the hype. After applying it, my face looked sparkly and metallic. Eww -- garish!
On a whim, I brushed some regular mineral powder on top, and ~~ tah-dahhh ~~ it looked fabulous! Very natural but bright and glowing!
So give it a try. I bet it would look great on-stage too."They who dance are thought mad by those who hear not the music." ---Anonymous

Re: Try this nifty makeup trick to add glow, not shine
Ooh, now I'm curious!
I always avoided "shimmery" face stuff like the plague...it was "in" back when I was reading Teen magazine and the like, and the models never looked shimmery, they just looked shiny, like they desperately needed to wash their face or had just got back from an intense gym session (oily or sweaty). I always figured if I wanted sparkle, I'd go for glitter--at least it would be obvious what I was trying to do!
This stuff sounds different, though, might be worth giving a try. Do you find the gold elements they describe come out okay from a distance? I've tried using shimmery gold eyeshadow on my face before, and used to have gold lipstick, and I found that both of them tended to combine with the pink elements in my skin or lips and came out looking kinda orange-ish...the only way to avoid it was to use so much I resembled King Tut's death mask, not an attractive look!
*is off to go look up this stuff, yay!*

Cool discovery! Another one is using two tones of mineral powder foundation, one that matches your skin tone as a base and then another one a shade lighter for highlights :)

Is there a lotion version of a peachy coral color like that? I would like something to "enliven" my face but I think I'd have better luck with a liquid than with that glittery powder.
