fluffy, open side harem pants (like Sandra´s)
I love love love the Sandra´s look when she wears those fluffy harem pants with seams open under her full Bella skirts! It´s just a little less "naked legs" but causes such a nice movement.
I asked her about it and she told me the makes them herself and uses basically a pattern of FCBD und.
Has anyone experience in sewing one of these pants and can help me with pattern and anythis else that is useful to know before starting?!

Check out Shira's page:
http://www.shira.net/costuming/cg/pants-harem.htm
If you don't want to make them yourself, L. Rose designs can make them for you:
http://www.lrosedesigns.com/products/harem.html
Just specify where you want the slits, on the side or the front.

I just make regular harem pants (the link to shira's site is a good place to start) and cut and hem long slits in the side of mine. It's pretty easy.

If you want harem pants with a slit on the side, it may be easier to use a pattern that has a side seam, rather than one that doesn't. If you have some sewing experience, you can adapt any pull-on pants pattern, e.g., scrubs or pajama bottoms. Otherwise, Dawn Devine Brown has a book on pants http://www.davina.us/publications/pftd1.html (bellydanceshoppe.com has it for $6, so shop around for the best price), and B.D. Patterns #2010 has a pattern for side-slit harem pants (again, bellydanceshoppe.com seems to have a lower price--maybe they're discontinuing their home-costuming line?)
Did you see the harem pants thread from October? http://www.bhuz.com/showthread.php?5...ts-in-Costumes

FCBD uses a pattern that has a yoke from the waist. The pants hang from the yoke and the fullnes is integrated by 4 large open pleats, 2 front, 2 back. This design allows for maximum fullnes of the pant, while retaining a close to the body profile for the upper part that sits under your skirt. Reduces the bulk of gathered waist under another gathered waist.

I think it's the bottom one on this page: http://www.fcbd.com/catalog/index.ph...a6253b5fc8e304

Re: fluffy, open side harem pants (like Sandra´s)
I don't know what Sandra wears, but the original FCBD pant pattern was FOUR widths of fabric, if I recall correctly, pleated into a yoke for all the reasons stated by Anala. This would mean that a seam would be positioned at the outside of either leg if a slit was desired there. The originals used taffeta or other stiff-handed fabric in order to pouf the skirt out. Using a thin fabric with drapey hand would create a much more slender silouette.
The original pattern also omits crotch seam and/or gusset. Stitch down a bit from the top (center front and back seam) and up a bit from the bottom (inseam). The gap in the middle provides ventilation (and maybe a way to go to the bathroom without undressing) and is invisible in the veritable storm of fabric yardage incorporated into the 'traditional' FCBD costume.
I believe that pattern (actually, the schematics for it) are reproduced in the Folkwear pattern at the TOP of the page (the Tribal pattern). The Sarouelle's pattern at the bottom of the page includes a full pant with no yoke, a slimmer African pant, and an Indian pant with a yoke and the narrowed cuff - again, if I recall correctly.
