    Lebanese costumes

    Hello everyone,

Well, I am a faithful fan of Egyptian costumes, however, I am open to suggestions. I was looking at some Lebanese ones today and needless to say some of them are quite daring. However, there is one I cannot digest at 1:37 min. I am not sure this is good one. Some are cute, but of course after having 2 kids and 2 c-sections there is no way in heck LOL

Links to the video: I guess they do attract quite a bit of attention...

    Hugs,
    Amani

IMO , these remind me of fetish shoes..not ment to be worn outside a fetish situation.

    Re: Lebanese costumes

I just bought a Lebanese style costume that reminded me a lot of a Sahar. I'll report back once I get it and on the seller.

I like that flower one in the very beginning and the blue dress at around 1:08.

Ah yeah, that blue one, is very charming indeed. However that pink one that came with short skirt and matching thigh tights is just not something I would consider for bellydance, even thought they said it is a bellydance costume.

We would love to see your new bellydance costume! I would love to have some of the Lebanese ones, but in my case I probably need to workout before I get even near them LOL

    Hugs,
    Amani

    Re: Lebanese costumes

    Hi Angelina,
These are Roni Eid's costumes. He only does custom work and doesn't have ready to wear costumes as far as I know. These are some of his most daring designs and not all of his costumes look like this. I have a Roni Eid costume and it's actually a very normal looking bra/belt and skirt set. Very well made and the inside seams are beautifully and perfectly finished. The beading is very detailed and finely done. They are an investment though, they run anywhere from 1200 to 3000 dollars.
Lebanese costumes aren't massed produced as in Egypt, so they are difficult to purchase unless you actually go to Lebanon and have one made by a seamstress or designer, or buy one used from somebody.

Oh that flower one is just gorgeous! I love interesting out of the ordinary design. However, unfortunately for me like I said, those Lebanese costumes are not going to be on me anytime soon I agree they are quite daring.

I guess you are right. Egyptian ones are more mass produced unless you get a special order. Oh of course, I have seen other Lebanese ones and they are quite classic bra belt sets or dresses. I think those daring ones are designed to shock the audience as well as look completely different from what they are used to. I could believe the costumes are that expensive, because you also get that uniqueness factor, where you might be the only one who wore it and even gain fame for it, as in "oh remember so and so dancer and she wore that costume..." and people would go, "ah yea the one that wore this and that..."

    Hugs,
    Amani

Randa wears the big flower one. I thought that one was by Hisham Osman? Is he Egyptian or Lebanese?

There are several flower costumes out there. Sahar has a bunch of flower costume designs, and I've seen some on the bdstore.biz that are by Mamdouh Salama

    I *think* Hisham is Egyptian.
