    Yay! My first male belly dance costume! :o)

    I'm as excited as my customer is. A young talented dancer of our troupe, Pierre, needed a more "serious professional" costume and ask me if I could give it a try.

    Since he is working part time only and still a student is psychology, we did our best to keep the cost low and recycle some stuff I already had. Including fabric, acrylic stones and sequined ribbon the total investment was about $25!

    The top is actualy a beautiful stretch velours with silver accent. It look strange on the pics because of the flash, but it's soft and comfortable.

    Yippee! I finish it this morning and He will wear it for a new year eve party restaurant gig.

    I already have other costume projects for him. He going to dance a duet with and other one of my young protogé, Florence. I going to help our troupe director, Khadija to design our first woman/man duet costumes! But meanwhile, here is the happy customer

    Awesome- & seriously, can you make another for me if I send you measurements? This is along the lines of what we were thinking for our next number, but I have NO time to sew!
    ETA- I even have the trim already...

    I´m SO impressed!Très beau for only 25$:O
    The structures,trims,jewels and fringe is so harmonious yet will show up on stage;
    really like to see male bellydancing costumes like this,because it´s glamourous without being distractionally skimpy.

    (dare I say the dancer looks charming himself?)

    aww he's cute and well dressed! great costume! It bothers me how some male bellydance costumes are either too effeminate or too naked or too cheesy. this is all good.

    Re: Yay! My first male belly dance costume! :o)

    I like it. If I were to wear it, I'd want more - quite a bit more - at the hips. But that's me - everyone has an opinion. I like the fabric, I like the plunging neckline which gives PLENTY of room for necklaces, pendents and the like. The bling trim is a nice touch.

    I wasn't aware of a "requirement", mythological or otherwise, for a bare male midriff (or a bare female midriff for that matter) - although I do *personally* think that in a troupe situation a male should have/not have a bare midriff to blend in with his dance sisters. If he's a soloist, he can do what he damn well pleases...

    He looks terrific--flashy enough for bellydance but still perfectly masculine. Fantastic job!
