Stage Makeup Applique's
So I was turned onto these great appliqué kits, that come with full upper and lower appliqués of glitter/rhinestones, false eyelashes, the works, and I'm now carrying them, I know some of you saw them at BDNC, they are great for those who don't know how to do stage makeup, and I love them because in about 7-10 minutes I can wear the look that would take me at least an hour or more to do by hand, check out my album on my profile page, they aren't all up on my website just yet, but I'm working on it. Eventually I'm going to design my own line specifically for belly dancers!!

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
I use to be a MUA and can do makeup quite fast(double pairs of lashes, jewels&all),
think these look perfect for a LOT of occasions-
troupe work(uniform glam look)competitions, fast stage makeup, photo shoots etc etc
@Aradia,what I think would perfect this line is designs with a pronounced(but not too sharply marked)socket/crease line in "bellydance neutrals"like gold, bronze, copper, silver etc.
(The 3 top things that other dancers hire me to throw on before a show is lashes, crease and sculpting)

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Thanks for the info, yes, you get the strong crease, but not always in a neutral. They do sell the glitter goo, which is this kick ass glitter paste that you put on your eyelid, I've gotten it in different colors and played around with changing the look. The paste is great, no more gltter falling all over your face and bathroom, as much as I love eye kandy, it's such a damn mess to use! If the glitter goo starts to get thick, just add some water and stir, and it returns to it's flexibe state.

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
I'd be interested in the glitter goo. In the decals, not so much, although I could see their value in a stage setting where you aren't too close to the audience. I don't like the colors or that you couldn't really accommodate them to differently shaped eyes (based on looking at the pictures).

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Can you just use the glitter goo? I love the idea of the appliques, but my eyes are SOOOOO sensitive- that, and I'm afraid of false eyelashes (I CAN'T believe I just admitted that on Bhuz!) But yes, it's true- I'm afraid of false eyelashes. So the idea of an applique on the whole eye is a little intimidating. But the goo sounds AWESOME! What colors and how much?

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Some of the designs look a little clunky, but I agree that they'd be fab for a stage performance. A little too drag queen-ish for restaurant work though.
If you made a whole line of these for belly dancers, I'd buy! I'd be particularly interested in intricate tribal-style makeup appliques. In particular, I'd be interested in 20/30s-style vintage looks, peacock-style eye makeup with long, flowing lines coming from the eyelids, and ATS-style facial tattoos.
Great idea. I've seen things like this before (Avon sells something similar to this to create a smokey eye), but never so glam-ified.

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Those look great. How do you remove them? Is it tough?
Also, would they work on someone with large, very deep-set eyes? My eyes are very deep-set, which makes a number of makeup techniques impossible. (Shadow in the crease makes no sense on me because half of my eye is crease.)

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Sorry for the late reply, my computer crashed again. So these are the colors they come in
Silver
Red
Blue
Teal
White
Gold
Green
Magenta
Neon Pink
Copper
Neon Yellow
Neon Green
I don't have them in stock, but I can get them, and yes, you can just use the glitter goo as either an eyeshadow, or line your eyes with it.
Janie, here is the link to my site, http://www.aradialv.com/component/op...d,7/Itemid,26/ but I don't have all the colors and styles online yet, so I can send you a catalog if you like.
Thai spice, the appliqué sits above the crease, so on your upper eyelid, the glitter goo goes on your lower eyelid, which probably isn't real visible for you, but whenever you blink, look down they will see the glitter goo.
I would think these could also be cut if you wanted them smaller, and some of the colors are a little more pale, I think the pictures on my eyes give the truest look. This one is pretty restaurant friendly
Moonlight bellydance--what does tribal 20/30's style look like? I would be interested in seeing a picture of this.Last edited by Aradia; 01-09-2011 at 03:28 AM.

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
What exactly is Glitter Goo? What does it do, what does it look like, how does it feel on, what kind of container does it come in (squeeze tube?)?

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Yeah, what's up with no purple?? Glitter goo is $10 a pot, Darbla, its a paste consistency that comes in a pot like eye kandy, but it's not messy like the other glitters, you can add water to thin it out, it's great for eyeshadow or lining your eyes. If you look at my photo album on my profile page, its what I have on my lower eyelid, and the applique is ablove my crease

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Aradia,
I guess when I say "20/30s style tribal" I think I really mean the way that The Indigo typically does their makeup. When I look at it now, I think it's really just a very dramatic smokey eye. Although sometimes I think they use a little reddish-copper eyeshadow in there too like in one of the photos I'm including here.

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
I LOVE this idea. Any chance you would design an eye applique with a more subdued look? I like the glitter, but it would be too much for me as when my group dances we are closer to the audience. Would it work with more matte colors, or subtle glitter? I may just try the glitter ones anyway as stage make up is NOT my forte! I can never get my eyes to come out even

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Just had to put in that these are perfect for Mardi Gras! So, by applique, do you mean you just press something on your eyelid, and it all just stays? Or is the glitter a separate item?

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
Ok, there are some darker ones that are a deep blue, that might work for tribal, and I think they have a blackish glitter goo, it's called twisted. the only difference is her styles have drawn out lines rather than rounded lines
This is twisted
There are a few that are more subdued colors, like Passion is pretty light
and envy is a light green, it's the one I'm wearing in project bellydance
You peel off and stick the applique above your crease, then you add the glitter goo on your eyelid so it blends into the applique. this is where I've started to get creative and mix and match which glitter goo I put on my eyelid. The glitter goo is soft in texture so it goes on like a cream eyeshadow, I love this stuff! The appliques are waterproof and reusable, I wore mine for 15 hours probably at BDNC, and it looked perfect when I took it off at night.Last edited by Aradia; 01-15-2011 at 03:43 AM.

Re: Stage Makeup Applique's
How would these work for small and/or deep set eyes? I love these, and would order a few, but sadly my eyes aren't the biggest...I have to cut most false lashes in half to fit my little face!
