Broke my headband fall ..crying.:
I have a headband fall that is mounted on a plastic headband. Last night I tweaked the band a little too hard when I was putting it on, and broke it. The fall is glued to the band with a braided piece, so I was still able to perform in it. But it was very loose.
Does anyone have any ideas about repairing the plastic headband? I thought about strong tape or Superglue, but am not sure that those will work.
I love this fall (you can see it in action here):

Is there any way you could remove the fall part from the broken headband? Then you could glue it onto a new headband. Failing that you could try breaking off the ends of the old headband and gluing the whole thing to a new headband. I would use a hot glue gun to do this.

I don't think you'll have much luck trying to glue the current pieces back together. It needs to be a strong, flexible bond, and even glues that claim they are miraculous don't fare well on joints that have to hold tension and weight at the same time, so you're looking at mounting the hair on a new band or putting a second band under the first one, as firefly5 said.
You'll need to use an adhesive that works on plastics--not all of them do, especially not all hot glues, and if you are using a high-temp gun, you could accidentally end up melting the hair. Personally, I like E-6000, which is a room-temp, multi-purpose adhesive that glues nearly everything, but there are other products that are equally good. Just check the package before you buy your glue.
Of course, if you don't want to mess with glues, another possibility if you can get the hair off the original band might be to sew the braid through the holes of one of those flexible silicone hair bands. That would give you a stable, comfortable base for the hair fall, too.

The easiest thing would be to rip off the old broken headband and either replace it with a new one and some E600 (as mentioned above) or just use it as a 3/4 wig (pin it on and if if you need to hide the seam with something other than your hair, put a new headband in front of it. IMO pinning on your hair is much more secure than depending on a headband. Good luck!

I had a very cheap fake hair piece attached to a plastic headband with braid over the top, and I managed to rip it a part pretty easily because it was only glued together. I did lose some strands of hair on the edges because they were glued together very well, but it wasn’t too bad.

My favourite fall came on a hard plastic headband with a braid and I couldn't wait to take it off that hard band. I was able to gently pull it off with the braided hair still attached and then I sewed several toupe clips along the edge of the braid. That hair isn't going anywhere and it is so much more comfortable to wear.

Thank you for this suggestion; it worked! I pried the broken headband loose without much trouble, then I found the perfect silicone headband at Wal*Mart to sew onto the braided part. It's very secure, but without the pain of the hard plastic headband--the fall stayed on my head while doing some vigorous Khaleeji hair-tossing yesterday!
