    basic bedlahs

I just got a basic copper bedlah from Isis Exchange and thought I'd post a photo here showing what skirt and accessories I paired it with to try and make it look professional so I can get some feedback and we can all share ideas on how to get the most out of our basic bedlahs :)

    Here is mine:

I paired it with two chiffon 'professional style' circle skirts and drapey sleeves from L Rose. The skirts are actually two different colors, it's a little hard to tell in the picture. What do you guys think? Does it look like a good and somewhat professional
costume? Next I plan to get a hot pink satin circle skirt and hot pink velvet sleeves. What other color combos/skirt types would you suggest?

And most importantly: show me how you wear your basic bedlahs!!

I think that is a GREAT colour combination! Both colours pop. I don't have a basic bedlah so I can't post any photos, sorry. I have been eyeing the isis exchange ones though. How do you like yours?

I like the copper and teal, it looks beautiful.
I think the bra & belt would also look great with a cheeta or leopard print trumpet skirt! Another option would be a metallic gold skirt. Also royal blue would be pretty.

I have that bedlah and I loooove the color but with the cup shape it really needs to be bigger to look nice on me. But I like it enough to think of ordering another :) I got a maroon satin skirt and matching chiffon drape sleeves to go with it as those colors really pop against my pale skin and hair color. I do like the color you have with it and I also know mine looked good with a plum velvet skirt and a hunter green one. And, of course, anything looks good with black.

I think that looks great! I love the layered chiffon skirts look. I would recommend trying it with an LRose trumpet skirt and gauntlets as well. You can do so many color combinations with copper- you could try black, leopard print, maroon, dark green, rust, orange, dark violet, midnight blue. I absolutely love the teal with it, great first choice!

I love purple with copper. A leopard or cheetah print appeals to me, maybe in a burn-out velvet or another textured fabric. Of course gold hologram would be stunning, also an abstract print. Mermaid skirts are flattering on so many people and so versatile. I also like the odd concept of a vibrant magenta with copper. Eye-catching and totally unexpected.

I adore the new Bhuz header, the artwork is lovely. The copper-y gold accents show great versatility for your new bedlah.

Great color skirt with the copper. I had asked L. Rose to send me a sample of the teal chiffon, so it's great to see it in an actual skirt too.

I need ideas for the arm bands, so I'll be watching this thread too. I have a kelly green/royal blue beaded peacock bedlah that is so plain, so I need to add some kind of arm band or sleeve on my upper arms. Thanks for posting this

Dark /burnt orange, rust, olive, antique gold, some reds. I have that exact bedlah, and I was going to add more fringe in these Autumn colors. But mine's a bit too small for me. I guess I need to put it in the swap forum.

I have the same Isis Exchange set in gold! I love it, even though I had to dart the belt myself.

The copper/teal is a great combination. Here's my gold with a red luxury velvet L. Rose trumpet skirt and peek-a-boo gauntlets:

And another photo of the same set, modified for Christmas with sequin appliqués and paired with matching armbands I made myself:

I think the teal and copper is cute... and very pro, esp with the arm accessories. I think that arm accessories really make a costume look more professional... like a whole package. I think that layers help too.

You have GREAT taste! I have the same set and love it. The copper goes with almost every color. Moondance Bellydance has a great copper spin skirt that you should get!

    Re: basic bedlahs

I have a basic copper bedlah that I paired with a terra cotta, bittersweet colored circle skirt. It took me some time to come up with a color that really looked good and it was my former instructor that suggested the bittersweet color. I also recently wore it with a chocolate brown velvet trumpet skirt from LRose and it looked very classy. I'll try to post some pictures.

    Hopefully, the link works.
