Thread: Facebook vendor "Bellydance Costumes" - anyone bought from them?

Has anyone bought from this vendor: http://www.facebook.com/#!/profile.php?id=1265498084? They have some lovely stuff, but I wanted to check to make sure they're a reputable vendor.

i think they all "borrow" costume designs from each other lol

i just browsed thru his costumes...i'm not sure if he's the same as handmade costumes (whom i ordered that costume from) or if he's just ripping off all his photos. i'm confused

Haha, I haven't looked at that site in month; can't believe I remember Cossies so well!

Some of them might be their own costumes, I'm pretty sure some of them they are taking photos from other people....not all of them look Egyptian to me, even.
They just started chatting me on facebook and I asked about this one and the guy said it was 215 usd.......so.....Idk.

I would really like to know if anyone has bought from them as well. I really like the customer sercive I'm experiencing so far. Some of the designs look like Gommas to me, maybe they are ripping off the designs? I do know a lot of these Egyptian seamstresses are very talented and I know a lot of off-brand costume makers do copy each others designs, but that being said they are still making quality costumes and delivering them. I just want to feel safe buying :) I'm in great need of six matching costumes, so I might just go for it if I can pay through paypal because if for some reason there is a problem I can file a dispute, I figure that's always smart. I will let you all know of my experience. :)

Nefabit.....let us know. I'm interested in their stuff too, but am wary of the quality at such a great price. If you find that they are a gem, let us know : )

Here is my report - don't buy from them! Yep, it's a scam!
After placing an order for six costumes, the customer service seemed great. She really wanted to get the exact color right and assured me she would get the order done before my deadline. Then she tried to tell me that she didn't receive the payment from PayPal several times - the first time was true because I didn't get a receipt. On the second try it went through on my end but she asked me to resend the money through MoneyBookers (??). I said I was only comfortable sending money internationally via PayPal. Then she said ok never mind and said she started the order. A couple days later she asked me again what color, even though I had sent her color samples twice . . . Then I found the exact same pictures on her page on Gomaa's website orantel dancer. I received a call today asking AGAIN about the color. She then emailed me saying that she didn't receive the payment (again??) and please send through Moneybookers. After finding these pictures and her trying to get me to send the money over and over and obviously not having started on the order, I decided to ask for a refund. She said she already started on the order (obviously not) and said I could make a deposit and pay the rest after receiving the costumes but contradicted herself about the payment, saying the PayPal issue was a problem with all Egyptians (not in my experience) but then saying she was surprised and didn't now why PayPal didn't work.
I know that was all very confusing haha it was for me! Round and round in circles. Sigh.
Anyway, I have filed a claim with PayPal and should get my money back in a few days, but this is obviously a scam so don't buy from them!
