Thread: Where can I find quality material?

Hello fellow dancers, I am looking for the professional material that costumes are made out of. I make about half of my own costumes and I am tired of the lamme' blend material that hobby lobby has to offer. A few people have recommended heavy swim suit material, but I really want the other kind of material. Any help findng it??????? Thanks!

Have a look at some of the online stores - I buy from www.spandexhouse.com because they have reasonable international shipping. Spandexworld.com have an even bigger range of stretchy stuff. I love the stretch glitter velvets they have

SewSassy.com also carries specialty fabrics for dance/skating/gymnastics costumes. (Their web site doesn't look very impressive, so contact them if you are looking for something specific. They're a bigger player than they look like.) You could also try nearby theatrical supply houses. Hancock Fabrics usually carries the thinner stuff like Hobby Lobby has, but JoAnn sometimes stocks or can order the heavier weights.

Thanks ladies! We have a Hancock's here, but they mostly carry quilting stuff. :( I'm looking at the suggested websites now! Wee!
