Smile Would love input/opinions - Creative uses of high end/fun fabric scraps

So here is my creative challenge....

A while back I purchased a fabric closeout of a cotton/poly blend, printed with some whimsical art, all in the Egyptian genre. For example...cats and mice in pharaohnic dress, border prints mimicking tomb paintings ie: "Marc Anchovy and Cleocatra - Queen Neffur-kitti - King Kittenkhamun" and some just pretty and artsy pieces in nice colors.

I also have lots of high end couture silk velvet scraps in all kinds of yummy colors and I thought..
Why not make things that we dancers would use in our dance (or other) life...something luxurious, yet useful.
I was thinking along the lines of make-up bags, makeup brush roll ups, wig bags, pin and sewing kits containers...items like that. And I would add a few really lovely decorative items like real pearls and a choice swarovski crystal or two, maybe even a vintage broach or something.

And all priced like a really affordable "Little Luxury".

My question is...do you think these would work as a sell-able/gift-able item that would be warmly received and or eagerly purchased?

What other items would be useful to a daily dance life, something fun?

If someone sends me an idea that I had not thought of, that sounds really awesome, I will make a sample and send it to you as a thank you.

I really appreciate any and all input.

At the Zahra Zuhair workshop I just went to last Saturday, Zahra was wearing this really fun, cool hip scarf/belt with fabric circle tassel/balls dangling off of it in a cute animal-patterned fabric. She said that Eman makes them out of her costume scrap fabric and sells them at her store in Egypt. It was a really fun....I wish I could find a picture of it....

I need to put my creative thinking cap on, but I also immediately thought of zill pouches/bag as well as the others that you have already thought of. I have a nice silk lined pouch with ribbon tie--sold as a lingerie travel bag--that I use for carrying/storing my veils to gigs. A special one created just for belly-dance veils would be wonderful!

I do think your items would be warmly received and purchased--not only for one's own "little luxuries" but as nice gifts for teachers, troupe mates, etc.

I used to work in a fabric store, and I remember that fabric line! I think any kind of small bag, purse, or tote would be a great use of the fabric. How about a yoga mat carrier? I also think it would be adorable in aprons, scrubs or pyjamas - but those take a lot more fabric.

I'd love a veil bag - with sections inside to hold up to 5-6 veils...

Since you gave me an idea...

I would love to send you a sample of what you inspired me to create.

What are your favorite color ranges?

    Thanks!

Zill bags? If the material is sturdy enough, a stick bag?

I think bags for props would be really nice.
My veil fans have no where to live and my wings need a bag too.
A bag that would hold hip scarves would be great too. I have to wear a coin one for troupe and always need it to be in a seperate bag so the coins don't harm my costume or veils.
Maybe with a loop that would alow you to hang it on the hanger with the costume it matches.
    Hope this helps.

Make little pouches and stuff w/ lavender. Throw in drawers, suitcases, costume bags, etc. I do this with fun patterned panty hose I no longer wear. Tie one end in a knot, stuff w/ lavender, tie other end.

Talking about coming out to AZ in August; hope to see you, Meena!
