Vest instead of bra top?
Has anyone ever made a vest-like top instead of a bra top that was still as sturdy and as decorated as a bra top? Any patterns? Where do you put the clasps / how do you get it on/off? How do you make it strong enough to decorate?
I know I've seen Anaheed wear them but I've never seen them anywhere else so I figure she has them custom made for her. See below.

I think Anaheeds are made by Anja of Glitzy Gypsy. But basically it's a choli. And on Anaheed they are cut a little smaller.

Re: Vest instead of bra top?
I have made a couple before, but I treat it like I am building a bra first. I use the bra cups to design the front and incorporate regular costume bra straps into the vest portion so that it looks like all one thing. (Essentially, a built in bra.) Sim moda evi and topkapi designs both used to sell costumes with this kind of top, but I haven't looked for them lately.
Found these pics on facebook for a topkapi with a choli/vest style top: http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4167294_n.jpg

Re: Vest instead of bra top?
Ooo good detective work Tahira!
I was thinking if I made one I would use a bra base for support, I'm just not sure how to turn it into a vest... Maybe do the bra and vest separate but the same fabric so it looks like one piece? That would make the vest washable separate from the bra too... Hmmm that's sounding like a good idea actually..
