Has any one ordered JUST a bra and belt from Bella?
I cant find what I want, I want a nice silver but nothing is really striking my fancy, I got a confetti and was going to spiff it up, but it was way to small (like was an A cup when advertised as a D
) So I was thinking I could order from bella but don't want to pay more than $300, but don't want a cheep-o one either, I figured it would not have all the rhinestones etc (which I have a box of I could add) I also wanted a nice gold coin and thought well if im going to pay for shipping might as well see if I could get a $300 range coin from her as well, I just wanted to know if anyone had done this and had success?

Of course you can do it - but for $ 300 I wonder if you would not better order from somebody cheaper and get more out of your money.
This costume is more on the "budget" side of Bella and it still cost about $ 500. And I doubt that it would have been much cheaper without the skirt.

It has only few fringe and the sparkle comes more from the material itself.
I wanted something light weight that travels well so this was perfect, but of course it doesn't have the same "wow" factor as the more expensive ones.
A coin costume will be heavy and therefore might cost more shipping?

Go to www.bellydancestore.com or to www.pyramidimports.com. They both have bra and belt sets for less than $300 and they both have very fine products.

My "very simple with only a few crystals" bedlah from Bella still cost me over $500, and that was a few years ago.
I think you'd be better off with another designer if you want something under $300.

Dahab sells bedlah in your price range and they have been getting fantastic feedabck from everyone who has ordered. They have a retail thread here: http://www.bhuz.com/showthread.php?4...ighlight=dahab
Andalee ordered a silver bedlah from them and posted pictures on post #250 of page 9.

What you are asking is possible. My friend currently has ordered some Bella "bra and belt only" sets for $300 each. Caveat: no crystals, no skirt, no veil, no arm thingies -- the sets are just coin style, not anything elaborate that Bella is usually known for. Also, she ordered several for a troupe. So that may be why she got the great deal. I'd contact Bella and see if she'd be open to it for just a solo costume.

Well, in the Bella store in Ghent, there are loads of bra-belt sets for sale. So I don't think its a problem if you order that.
In the shop they sell from 150 to 400 € I think.

I think it wouldn't hurt to ask! I told Bella my budget was $500 (INCLUDING shipping to Australia) and asked what she could do for a simple gold bedlah. I received a bra, belt with cutouts, attached shoulder sleeves, wristlets and necklace (plus that extra headband thingy), with more than a few AB crystals (just counted - 43 of 'em in three sizes!). Plus she re-made my bra for me (it was way too big) at no extra cost other than my shipping it back to her! Maybe I just got lucky, but my experience with her was fantastic.

Re: Has any one ordered JUST a bra and belt from Bella?
My friend ordered a simple bedlah that came with a full skirt, chiffon gauntlets, and a necklace for about $400. It was based on one of the models on her website. I don't have a clear picture of it but you can see it here in the left:

There were about ten crystals total and instead of beading on the base, she used sequined fabric. She didn't hold back on the looped fringe and the skirt has her trademark "curly leaves" on it. Not a bad deal for $400 if you want a Bella but I prefer a ton of crystals and beading and I feel like you can't go that route with a Bella if you're not paying more.

I have 2 Bra and belt sets from Bella. They both have cutouts abd lots of fringing and crystals so they were between $600-$700. Im sure Bella could work with you and give you something fabulous and to your budget :)

Re: Has any one ordered JUST a bra and belt from Bella?
Great thread... I've been curious about this as well. I have several Egyptian troupe costumes, and a few Bella solo costumes, and was interested in getting Bellas for my group. Bellas are so well made, and I think with all the performances we do and wear and tear on the costumes, it would be worth it... But then again I don't want to spend $700 each for 4-5 costumes! I saw another Bhuzzer who purchased them for her group in the "Bella" thread (can't recall who it was)- wondering how much she paid for them, they looked beautiful!

Re: Has any one ordered JUST a bra and belt from Bella?
YEA! I heard back from bella, I sent her 2 photos of the 2 bedlah I wanted (with skirts and all the yummy stuff) I asked her for 3 price ranges for each, 1) with just the bra and belt 2)with the bra belt, arm bands and head band, 3) the entire costume. She priced them out from $290 - $500 with the prices inbetween, each costume was slightly different priceing. I am going to go with option 2 on each which will be $350 and $380. I am super excited!

Agree with above poster too - I'd love to see pics of what you ladies are referring to as $ xxx vs $ yyy budget.
Great thread, glad you posted, I've been thinking the same. I'd love to see what the final result is because that would basically be my budget as well.* Sa'Noorah * Petite Dancer at 4'10" / Facebook: Sa'Noorah Bellydance /
