Help!! Repairing a row of "leaking" sequins - see pic

Hi, I am working on a few repairs to a used costume I bought and I am not sure how to fix this piece. There is a row of sequins on the halter strap that has lost about 5 sequins in the middle of the row. The thread holding down the whole row broke in the middle. I have enough sequins to add them back in. But how do I "tie off" the ones that are still there? There isn't enough thread left to create a knot of any kind. I thought about resewing a few down on each side of the break, but I am not sure that this will hold long term. Anyone have any ideas? I am new to this stuff and not real confident in removing the whole row of them to reattach and I want to fix it so it doesn't continue to "leak".

I would start with reinforcing a few of the existing sequins with new thread, add your replacement sequins, then finish with reinforcing the existing sequins on the other end. All with one new piece of thread. Then trim the old loose thread so you don't see it any more. If you reinforce 3 or 4 sequins on either end of the run, they should stay in place in spite of the broken thread.

I would remove a few more sequins until there was enough thread to make a knot and then I would start a new thread and resew through a few of the old sequins and continue on. I also would put a small dab of fabric glue on the knots to hold them better.

Ahh good to know that sewing the ones on the end back down will likely keep them from continuing to fall off. And I hadn't even thought of using fabric glue on the knots! Great idea! Thank You!!!!!

thats what I do with any seams/threads esp all hand sewn stuff- i don't take out any stitches- I just "backstitch" by hand or with the machine whatever I'm doing.

    Hasn't failed me yet!

ETA Nevermind, Shala's method is actually better for sequins, I did this on last project I worked on because the beads were too small to run a second thread through.
And if you take a needle with a decent size eye, and push it most of the way through the fabric beside the broken thread, and then thread the broken end through the eye, you can pull it through to the underside of the fabric without needing much length at all. Once the broken end is on the underside, you can tie it to another piece of thread to knot it.... There's probably a more proper way to deal with short little broken ends, but this is what I figured out.
