Re: patterns for arm bands
You don't really need a pattern for arm bands or gauntlets. Measure around the places of your arms where you want the bands/gauntlets to start and end and measure the length that you want them to extend on your arm. Cut a square that is as long as this length and as wide as the widest arm measurement. On this square, mark on one side and from the middle, half of the smallest arm measurement you made... then cut at an angle from these sides up to the corners. It should look like a trapezoid. If this sounds confusing, look at a picture of a trapezoid and my instructions will make sense.
Sew the two angled ends together and hem the other two ends and there's an armband! You can make additional cutouts if you want anything fancy or different.http://www.etsy.com/shop/LesediDancer Enter coupon code "BHUZLOVE" at checkout and get a 15% discount.

Ozma has a guide on her costumes page. I tried it myself with some minor tweaks (er, mistakes really)...I don't recommend her method if you are going to bead the arm bands, but for plain ones, I am sure it is fine.

Dina Lydia (The Costume Goddess) sells a how-to book via her website with directions for lots of sleeve/gauntlet and drape variations. The page linked here only shows a few of them. I know she includes different shape suggestions and diagrams for the chiffon drapes.

Re: patterns for arm bands
I agree with Lesedi. Armbands can be as thick or as thin as you want. I just experiment by cutting out on a brown paper bag from the grocery store. Once I find what I think goes best with the costume, I cut it out onto pellon/interfacing, cover with the fabric, and bead/sew crystals onto it. As for the princessy- trapezoid, just cut extra fabric your first go round... I prefer making it bigger than needed and trimming down instead of cutting too small... not much you can do at that point. I just do a hand-rolled edge and add sequins. Voila!
