Clip on ponytails - got any recommendations?

I was thinking about getting one of those clip on pony tails. Does anyone know of a great supplier or what a good price is?

I found this one online for $49.95. I figured I'd either go with "Brownie Finale" or "Fudgecicle". Both sound delicous, and also look pretty close to my dark brown hair. http://www.ultimatelooks.com/jonrena...vocativejr.htm

Hey Shushanna! I get all my fake hair from Hair Sisters - www.hairsisters.com. Or any local hair store (like the ones on Chestnut St in Philly) work too. You can usually find them for $10 - $20, ones with real hair will be more.

Some of our troupe members found them at Ardenne (I think it's the same as Claire's in USA) for less than 15$. They have them in straght or wavy, the quality isn't bad at all, the look is natural.

I have a clip on ponytail from BeautyTrends.com and have recieved really great compliments on it. Their prices are fair market value also.

If you want human hair though I have heard good things about "Hello Gorgeous".

Sometimes the metal spring pieces in the clip ons can wear down quickly and break. You might want to consider looking a tthe drawstring ponys also. :)

I agree about drawstrings-most clipon ponytails *are*actually drawstrings when you remove the clip(that IMO makes it "stand out"from the head too much)

    The ponys look great:)

    Thanks for the response, everyone!

I ended up heading over to a Sally's Beauty Supply and getting a synthetic curly clip on ponytail and a synthetic long straight hair extension that goes from the back of the head. I figured I'd start with something cheap so I can make all my mistakes with it before I get anything made of real human hair.

I've tried them both on, and even wore the pony tail out to dinner with a friend. It felt pretty secure, though I haven't tried dancing in it yet. I still need to perfect my technique for attaching the straight extensions, but it looks really cool to have really long hair.

If I may suggest a good tip. I recently bought a spray wig conditioner for syntetic hair, this one:

De Mert Aerosol Wig Lusterizer & Conditioner

I have to admit, the smell is kind of strong at first (maybe would be best to use it outside ) the result is quite amazing.

I have a 3/4 wig that was starting to get very tangled in the nape of the neck area. Where the necklaces and halter bra sequined straps get cought in it all the time.

I use this stuff and I was very impressed, my "muskrat" is like new again. Also, put some on a very cheap clip-on ponytail and it works wonder on that one too!

You just spray the conditioner, let it dry completely and after, brush or comb with a proper wig tool and it will keep your ponytail in good condition.

But then, I would advice you to do the spraying outside or a large space because the smell will get to your throat.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the hairpet fan club!

I get extensions and ponytail clips from local beauty supply stores. Not Sallys, but the local stores that cater mostly to salons. It's usually great quality hair and a good price too. If you have a local store in your area, check and see if they sell to the general public.

I have been making my own extensions for a few years now, so I don't buy them pre-made anymore but I do know many of those places sell them.
