    Bras and Foundation

I have two problems that I need a solution for. One of them is bras and halter tops. I have a very hard time getting them to fit right. Because of my cup size vs my chest and shoulder measurements, I have a hard time getting tops and bras to fit right. For regular undergarments, I have found some companies that fit me well all around. I was wondering if maybe I should delve into making my own bras and halters since I have such a hard time with costuming. I know a little bit of sewing and my Mother used to make all of her own clothes so she can help me out. Does anyone have any quick resources or tips for someone starting this?

The second problem is foundation. Since I moved to Nashville, my complexion tends to get a little uneven and I have small break outs sometimes. I never wore foundation before but I feel a need to do it now. I used to just wear powder on the stage and that worked. What's a good foundation that covers but won't kill my skin?

    Thanks!

So you want full coverage foundation (to address unevenness) that does not clog pores (to address break outs).

What type of skin do you have (oily, dry, sensitive, etc.)?

Most of the construction information you'll find for hard-to-fit bodies is for making lingerie bras, but the instructions could be easily modified for dance bras or swimsuits. Here are some pages to get you started from that angle:

    http://www.max-california.com/2010/0...damn-bras.html
    http://www.instructables.com/id/Bra/
    http://www.jessica-tromp.nl/bramakinglingerie5.htm
    http://www.sewsassy.com/BraProducts/...ternsKits.html
(That last link is for Sew Sassy in Huntsville, AL, and they do have a brick-and-mortar store if want to take a drive to do some in-person research.)

Ahh these resources are great. Thank you!

As far as foundation goes, I have combination skin. Oily in the t-zone and dry in the cheeks and jaw.

Try something WATER-BASED, with a mattefying primer in the oily areas.

    Example:

MAC's Face & Body (very light, but buildable coverage, water-based so as not to exacerbate oiliness, but addresses dryness).

+ Monistat Anti-Chafing Gel or MAC's Prep+Prime Skin Refined Zone in the oily areas.
