ISO - A source for "non-snag" rhinestone chain...
I'm making a chiffon costume with rhinestone chain...
Stupid yeah, because it snags like hell. I contemplated buying non-snag chain but because it was so expensive, I cheaped out and got a roll of regular. Now, I need to go back to plan A but can't, for the life of me, remember who sold the non-snag type. Nor what it officially is called, so my searches came up empty.
Any sources come to mind? Thanks.I got a Bhuz on!

Let's ask Bella! Her costumes seem to be the only ones that contain non-snag rhinestone chain. Maybe she and Eman should have coffee and share their sources for the betterment of all dancers world-wide.
Eman's are the worst for snagging!

You can buy bezel-set rhinestone chain with either metal settings or plastic. Is that what you are looking for?

I've seen plastic settings in the trim shops in NYC. The plastic comes in all sorts of colors. Perhaps check MJ Trims

That's it Tourbeau, bezel-set was the word I couldn't remember. Any sources?
I have seen the plastic set chain but I need to drape the chains and the plastic type doesn't hang well. I'll check that link.
And Hala, ironically my Bella is my only costume without rhinestones! My favourite costumes are Dahab but their rhinestone chain is hell, stones fall out and then the prongs snag. I do agree that dancers everywhere would appreciate this small improvement in materials. I'm almost scared to use my favourite veils because of rhinestones.

I've never bought rhinestone chain, but The Rhinestone Guy has come up before as a reliable vendor. I think the only bezel-set chain he carries is the plastic kind, though. http://www.rhinestoneguy.com/banding_and_trim.htm
Can you use red? http://www.lasvegasrhinestones.com/s...zel-Set/Detail
Sorry I don't have more leads. Maybe contact theatrical supply houses?

I seem to recall people suggesting using clear nail varnish to paint over the prongs of existing rhinestone chains. Would that be an option if you can't find the non-snag stuff?

It looks to me like the new Emans on her facebook has the plastic bezel set rhinestone chain. I agree it will make things easier, but perhaps more expensive?

In case anyone's interested the nailpolish trick works really well. They lose a tiny bit of sparkle but I could test run it over my hair and chiffon without snags, just a little "drag". It's not foolproof but I going to nailpolish my existing costumes.
Still on the hunt for bezel set. (found some set in sterling silver so, no thanks, way too expensive)
Wish I had a reason to buy that red in the link!I got a Bhuz on!
