What are you working on in March, 2011?
I can't believe evening has come and NO-ONE has started this thread yet. But it means I get to! Yay!!!
My project from last month hit a terrible, horrible snag. I finished the beading only to find out that I had "shrunk" it a cup size. So, to the pile of rejects it went. I don't want to look at it, let alone TRY to fix it.

So, started a new Black and Pewter (take 2). Working on an asymmetrical design, which I find very challenging. This time, I tried and fitted the bra before I finished it. I only make the same mistake once or twice
I'm hoping to finish it for a March 25th Hafla.

I also managed to cover the base for another bedlah - royal blue satin that hopes
to be a peacock theme when it grows up.

Nice work so far on the new black and pewter, Zeevah. I hope you're able to salvage the original, too. I love your design!

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
Okay, so I've finally gotten around to creating some T-shirt designs I've had in mind for ages. Having designed some tees for my troupe, I was brimming with ideas!
The design that started it all:

This next one was a challenge. I am so, so pleased at how it turned out! I put it on tees, too, but I am loving this bag.

Campy, but I couldn't resist!

And, last but not least, I am geeking out over this one. Bhuzzers are the only ones who will understand! The phrase "Egyptian Dance" written with the names of famous Egyptian dancers and choreographers:

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
I love this thread you ladies are all so talented, I like the t-shirts!
I am on a roll, working on varoius costumes!
I finally took some pictures of my costumes I have been working one, sorry only mirror pictures.
I received a costume base from Toria for my secret Habbibi gift for chritmas, skirt, bra, extra fabric and big beads. I took it apart as it was way too big for me and tried to keep the design in putting it back together and decorated it. The fabric is really light so I decided to glue most of the stones on the fabric, that is scary if you have never done that before, but fun and fast. It was funny dancing in the costume the first time; it is really light I constantly thought “are my panties showing?” It flows nicley, it is a fun costume to dance in. Thank you Toria!

I finally found an orange skirt, bought it from Lulu dance for one of my favorites the orange bra and belt set. I changed the bra to a Halter to be more flattering and will make armbands soon out of the veil (it is the smallest veil I ever saw).

I tried to sell my olive costume but decide to redesign it and make it longer, the skirt was bit to short for my taste. I am adding waste straps encrusted with beads. I will post pictures when I finished it.

I also tried to post pictures of the naked dress I am working on but I could not get the zipper to close by myself and that was not a pretty site to show off.

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
I am now separating costumes into BB- before baby and AB - after baby!
I just finished a nude costume that reminds me of something Arwen would have worn in Lord of the Rings. But I still need to take final pics.
And I did a green diamond costume just in time for Mardi Gras. Tomorrow I am finishing this gold one which reminds me of an oscar statue!
P.S. LOVE the t-shirts and that navy pattern with the pink is so cool!

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
The nude/red one does have relatively flexible tummy straps. They are only backed in felt. But I added wire to the belt and bra cutouts to give it some more stiffness. I am actually not connecting one end of the straps so the owner can adjust it to where they need to be.

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
ok, so after a looooooooooooong time crying because I will never fit cissciss'Eman ( http://www.bhuz.com/showthread.php/5...and-never-worn!!!) , and because I don't have the funds to costum order one for me; I decided to make my own (modest) version of it...
sorry for the huge size of the pic and the poor quality! (let's not talk about the un-make up and the hair!)

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
great loops style costume has begun!!!
I don't have a bead spinner so I'm pretty much using a small bowl and a hooked needle and just spin in manually. whooho- this is going to be a looooong process LOL
These are gunmetal silver and I'm really really happy but I haven't decieded if I want to use the silver/gray fabric I currently have or go for new stuff- I have burgendy fabric I was going to use with it so I'm undecieded- and I have the gunmetal sequins on the way for the base's. But pretty pleased at how it looks.

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
thats going to be the center one- I am debating putting a small drop pendant at the center of that... there are about 20 swags- it looks better than it is LOL... I want to say its 5 inches across the top from side to side.
the other ones I started in the center and am working out so there won't be a gap or room for a drop/pendant.

Re: What are you working on in March, 2011?
Hi!
I've purchased a formerly gorgeous and cheap Legend-Costume via Ebay and I have to work a lot on it.
I already have replaced all Swarovskis on the skirt - as well as all the rhinestone-chains.
I don't know what the previous owner did with the poor thing as I have never ever seen rhinestones in that state: chipped, scratched and rubbed off of nearly all the AB-coating. She must have done lots of floor-work on concrete...
I really can't understand why people treat their expensive stuff like this.
Now - it looks gorgeous again with all its new bling
Next thing to do is to put all the fringes back on which she must have removed from the skirt. After that, I will add ruffles to the skirt to make it longer as it is a bit too short for me.
This will take a while but I will post pics as soon as it is finished.
Love, Sahira.Don't dream your live, life your dream!

I looove that costume, Raya!

That's what I'm working on. Blue harem pants, a belt, two armcuffs and a bra. So far I am done with beading the straps and the edges of the bra. I don't know yet if I should un-bead the straps again, because I think they might be too boring, but I'll have to see how it looks once everything is done.
