Thread: Egyptian Skirt re-sizing

I want to thank everyone for all the great advice I`ve received on here!

I recently ordered a costume and stupidly I think I made the top of the skirt (that will sit on the hips) about 4cm too small.... I haven`t received the costume yet but I`m thinking it`s going to need 2cm on each side to fit my hips. As far as I know, it`s not lycra (the type of fabric isn`t specified). Does anyone have any tips about making an Egyptian skirt just a tiny bit bigger?

I was thinking of taking out the zipper and adding some fabric from the headband I don`t plan to use.

I can't imagine it won't be Lycra. That's just what it looks like to me. But, if it's too small, you can remove the zipper, insert a triangle shaped piece that makes it large enough, and re-insert the zipper. You may have to do a little beadwork to cover the addition.
