Setting makeup with hairspray?
Is setting your makeup with a light coating of hairspray a no-no?

Re: Setting makeup with hairspray?
I don't think so. I do it all the time. It works great! I have especially oily skin and doing this helps a lot to keep makeup in place.

Re: Setting makeup with hairspray?
I caution against it. Hairsprays have all kinds of polymers and chemicals that can, at best clog your pores, and worse, be absorbed through your skin into your body. Read the ingredients and see if they are something you want in a dermal transfusion patch. lol

Re: Setting makeup with hairspray?
Agree with above, and wouldn't do it too often, but considering how often I need to set my makeup (not much), I'm all for it! Both my sister and I have been doing it for years without any troubles (not even the clogged pores), make sure you remove it all before heading to bed.
Just don't breathe in or open your eyes until you've moved out of the 'spray zone'. I guess it comes down to the brand you're using and how often you do it.

I recommend something like Ben Nye Liquiset. I have even mixed the liquid with eye shadow powder to create very waterproof eyeliner. Amazon.com: Ben Nye Theatrical Liquiset Makeup or Powder Sealer for Waterproof Smudge Proof Finish 1 oz Spray: Toys & Games
