Sources for huge pear- or navette-shaped crystals?

I'd like to find a couple of enormous crystals to use as central accent pieces on my next homemade costume. The largest sew-ons I've been able to find so far are 28 mm in length, and I'm wondering if there are bigger crystals than that available. I'm looking for the flat-backed kind without settings.

I've checked Dreamtime Creations and Fire Mountain Gems. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Don't quote me yet (i just 'won' some last night) still need to see them in person, but I'd browse ebay. If they don't have what you want now, check back literally in a few days. I'll let you know how this seller works out and then could make a better recommendation :)

I have seen bigger "jewels" but they were acrylic. I don't know if you want those? If so I'll ask around and see where they were purchased.

i also scored some on ebay by a one-off seller (doesn't normally sell them). she'd uncovered some clear and turquoise rhinestones in an estate sale... pear shaped, 2 inches by 1.5 inches!!! they're from former Czechoslavakia and sooo pretty.

i ran across them randomly and really lucked out. i think she had them listed as glass jewels. 48 of each color for 15 bucks total.

.... so yeah, bigger rhinestones are out there, just very rare to find. i haven't actually found a website that sells the bigger sizes.

That would be great -- I'm open to acrylic. Thanks so much!

I don't know about the quality of these pears (not much bigger at 20x30mm, and they are acrylic), but I just ordered some...

I get mine from Rhinestones unlimited. They're local to me. I currently have some pear shapes now, but I can order anything. (They're wholesale, and I own a ballroom dance studio, so....)

Rhinestones Unlimited: Swarovski Elements Fancy Stones

Not sure if it'll help at all, but I know they can get the big stones....

Thanks for the lead! On their website it looks like they only the carry the large sizes in non-sew-on stones. Have you been able to get big sew-ons through them?

Re: Sources for huge pear- or navette-shaped crystals?

Yeah, I was looking through, and it looks like one can only get the sew on ones as a distributor through the wholesale program. I'd have to log in to access those. If you're really interested, let me know and I'll see what I can find. I think I got my 2 dozen pear shaped AB swarovski sew-on (just over 1" x almost 3/4") for about $60? I know they're a little pricey, but if you want the most sparkly, well faceted, and smooth edged (so the thread won't fray) crystals.... these are the ones to get. IMO.

(I have a costume - High end sim- with a whole bunch of these on there, and one of them was acrylic... I don't know about other people, but I noticed it right away... or maybe I'm just obsessive..)

You could also try calling one of the Fred Astaire dance studios in your area (there are 12 in CT) and ask if they have any/where they get them from... Just a thought - if you wanted a more local place than Minnesota.

I do agree with using ebay (just got mine the other day). Depending on the type you're looking for, I think I typed in "swarovski sew on"-that will bring up crystals with holes in them for easy sew on. If you want to glue them on, "swarovski crystals" should give you lots to choose from :)

Would you be willing to share which vendor you bought yours from? I really appreciate personal recommendations when I can get them!

try looking for vintage jewelry that you can take apart...that's where I got the mega teal stones for the Jasmine costumes...stretchy bracelets are usually the best, since they have holes for threading/sewing
