    Help with fringing?

SO I'm making a fringed bra and belt set, I'm almost finished on the bra, I just need to make straps and adjust the fringing. Basically, I want the fringe to hang down at the middle in a V, whereas at the moment, it's more of a soft curve. So far, the only suggestion I've had is to buy a fishing sinker, and attach that to weigh it down so it hangs more how I'd like, but... Anyone else got any thoughts?

Can you sew a little tuck at the top of the fringe at the point of the "v" to force it into the sharper angle?

Maybe sew a little craft wire to the back edge of the fringe cord to make the shape you want? That might not work, but it would a cheap simple idea to try. I'm wondering if it would look odd during movement.

You can wire the top also, or cut it and resew it where you want it to be in a V.

However, if I were you and I wanted a strong visual V and the fringe wasn't already V shaped, I'd probably cut the fringe so it ends on each cup, creating those two strong diagonals. And then I'd attach fringe separately in the middle. I'd also make the fringe special for the middle so it is longer and pointed in a V. If you use the fringe you have, it doesn't take too long to restring it to make a short section of longer fringe.

I'm also a big fan a breaking fringe up into tassels. You can still create that sense of a V shape but you don't have a wall of fringe.

I'm trying to find some pictures for an examples, these aren't exactly, but I'm talking about, but maybe it will be helpful.:

What Shems said. The "wall of fringe" look is not very flattering. Separated fringe, "clumps" tassels, "walls" that don't go across whole bra lend a more dynamic & attractive visual.

PS Good on you making your own bedlah!
