Ear cuffs - what do you think?
My daughter found these and thought I'd like them.
They're kinda cute, but would they work as part of a BD costume?

I'd say it depends on your overall style. If you are going for a very traditional, princess-y Samia Gamal style or a specific folkloric costume, I'm not sure these would work. I think they'd be more suited to modern cabaret costumes or tribal.

It's pretty - but when you move around, your hair is going to get all tangled up in these... Might even rip them off the ear.
I would wear them for other occasions and when I wear my hear in a pony tail, but not for dancing.

Re: Ear cuffs - what do you think?
I am going to dissent and say no to the ones you pictured. I love ear cuffs and wore them when I was younger so I speak with experience when I say trying to dance with those could be a nightmare. They're held on by the clasp toward the bottom. Believe it or not if you haven't worn them enough it will hurt after a short period of time and the heavier they are (and those ones look heavy) the worse it will be. I also seriously doubt they would stay on through any serious head movements with only the point of contact and being top heavy.
If you are serious about using an earcuff start small to build up the callouses on your ear and them upgrade as comfortable. If you want a climbing style you need one either with a top clasp or piercing (assuming you are willing to pierce there).
Have fun.

From the bottom of my heart... thank you for this input. Callouses? I shall pass. I've been an earring fan since before BD days, but I wear them for joy and pleasure, not pain. I do have a couple pairs of really heavy ones that I know I can only wear for a couple hours at a time, but there's no way I'm going for callouses. Nuh uh! So, thank you for saving me!

Boy, do I LOVE Bhuz for information!I'd like to give you some moral advice, but I have questionable morals.

You're welcome?
I honestly wasn't trying to talk you out of ear cuffs completely but to each their own.

Re: Ear cuffs - what do you think?
I have several different ear cuffs that I wear to work. I have not had any problems with callous formation so perhaps that just depends on the particular one. I do have one that hooks over the top part of my ear that is heavy after an 8 hour day, however.
