Thread: Remodeling a skirt with fishline hem question

Has anyone here removed the fishline "wire" from a skirt? I just bought a skirt from the bellydance store and I'm considering removing the wire but I'm wondering if the skirt will have to be completely rehemmed or if it will be even enough to wear as is? So...anyone ever try this??

I've taken the fishingline hem off the Alexandria skirts because it and the beading on the hem was too heavy for me. The skirt was too long, too, so it was easy to snip it off and rehem (I added a new fishingline hem but a lighter one without beading). I'd definitely re-hem it unless your snipping is a lot neater than mine!

Thanks for replying, Valeshka. Mine is the Alexandria skirt and I also find it too heavy. I was afraid to pull the line out and then find out that the hem was terribly uneven. I plan to wear it this weekend and don't have time to hem it so I guess I will wear it as is and then hem it when I have more time...I'm sure my snipping will be no neater than yours
