Thread: Need Help: Who is the costume designer/maker?

Can anyone please help me?

I love this costume, but I cannot figure out who the designer is. I would love to order a costume like this one.

Does anyone know who I can contact in order to purchase one?

She's great! I don't know about the designer but its a perfect costume for the flamenco theme at the start isn't it?

Most of her costumes look like really well-executed self-made costumes. Or at least made by someone local to her. They don't look like any specific designer to me. But I could be wrong!

Yes, it is a perfect flamenco costume. Simona wears a lot of this designer's costumes. I just wish I could figure out who the designer is.

Thank you :) That's a great idea. I tried a number of avenues. I facebooked Simona (the dancer) and tried the YouTube route. No luck. I keep hoping that someone on BHUZ will know.

Thank you Kiyaana. I found Simona's site and her Facebook. I still can't figure out who the designer is. Perhaps it is someone local. Simona wears a lot of this designer's costumes. They are so beautiful.

Thank you Shira. I tried Natalia Becker as someone put that in one of Simona's YouTube video comments, but I came up empty handed. It is very frustrating.

Simona has a ton of costumes from this designer, they are all so beautiful.

I totally agree. It is truly a spectacular costume design and Simona is a beautiful dancer. I love it. I wish I could figure out who makes these costumes. I am avid Bella fan, but these costumes are very beautiful as well and I would love to get one. :)))

I found this site for Natalia Becker. She said her costumer is Leila Jovana of Germany.

Leyla Jouvana is a well known german dancer - not a designer for costumes. Leyla usually wears Bellas.

I think they probably mean that Leila Jouvana is their customer, not costumer.

The first one or the second one? I took a workshop with Yousry Sharif about four years ago where he used the second song for a choreography. I can't remember the name now, but it's not on the "Wash Ya Wash" series. It was somebody else's CD...with a reddish-orange cover, maybe? Does that jar anyone's memory?

The ones with the distinctive skirts are from her mother. I just did a workshops with her today. She brought some used costumes here to Japan to sell and I asked. The one pictured (the animal prints) is totally her mother's work, it was one of the ones she was selling and we talked about them.

It's a combination of panels that flare out at the bottom AND godets AND two or three layers of fabric like that. A Trumpet skirt to the Nth degree.
