How well does sequinned stretch fabric hold up?

I found a gorgeous fabric that has flat sequins sewn onto a stretch fabric base. I'd love to use it to cover a bra and belt set and perhaps also to make an accent panel in a skirt. Before I splurge on it, though, I wanted to check how durable this sort of fabric is. Any experiences?

I've found this type of fabric, if its the same that I tried, sheds like a longhaird dog in the dead of summer. Every time I put it on and there was any type of friction (so like when your arm rubs up against anything... like your bra/belt/another arm) the sequins, which are cheaply sewn on, fall right off. It's a tempting fabric to get but not worth it for anything long term...

Thanks for the review, Nuriya! I may mess around with the swatch a bit, too, and see what happens to it.

I think it depends on the fabric. I used this: Spandex World Inc. spandex fabric, lycra stretch fabric

    When I made this:

And though I wished I had laid down a tarp when I had made the thing (I was finding gold sequins in random places for months afterward), once sewn together, the piece itself rarely shed.
    KelsNasim and Ndi-mi like this.
